This large villa is situated at the quieter south end of the white village of Gaucin, on a plot of 900sq meters. This is rare indeed, to have as much space in a village of this size. The house has its own entrance, and the garden covers an area of approx 450sq meters, with a circular swimming pool and separate shower room, etc. The spacious garden is on many levels with a grand Carob tree, and a fine view of the village and natural wildlife. Secluded and secure with a covered barbecue and bar area. Umbrellas and sunbeds are provided. Situated on the edge of the village the house escapes the general noise of pueblo life. Of course all shops, banks, etc, are within an easy walk. Gaucin is one of the most spectacular white villages in Andalucia and has a large Moorish castle and a maze of narrow streets.

Prices are per week for up to 4 guests. Prices for 5-8 guests will be approximately 20% more.
Changeover day
Arrival time preferred after 4pm and departure time 10am. These can be flexible, if agreed in advance, but must allow for preparing the house and grounds.
| Bedrooms: | Four spacious bedrooms , two of which have twin beds. Large south facing terraces and views to the Mediterranean. One further bedroom is situated at the back of the house, very quiet and overlooks the pool and garden. |
| Bathrooms: | One bathroom with shower and bath etc downstairs. Bathroom on second floor with shower and large bath. Outside bathroom by the pool with shower. |
| Kitchen: | Fridge freezer, hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave/oven and oven. The kitchen is open plan to the dining area and there is a large shady patio for outside eating. |

| Living Rooms: | Large lounge, equipped with TV (Spanish only), DVD player and a music system. |

Notes on accommodation
Heating is charged as a supplement. The pool area is open, surrounded by a large flat area. Toddlers would have to be watched, as always. The property is secure from the street and private. Garage available.
Accessibility
As the village is on the side of a mountain there are, inevitably, steps and slopes throughout. The house is on two floors, outside there are various steps for access, and to areas around the garden. The pool area has ample space around it.
Outside
Large mature garden, big barbecue area with bar and seating. Private pool (4mtrs diameter x 1.50mtrs deep) for guests only. Separate shower room and bathroom by pool. Umbrellas and loungers in the garden. The garden area of 450sq metres provides a quiet grand space, an island within the village.
Coast/Beach
The village is 35 kilometres from the coast and takes about 30 minutes or more by car.
Golf
Golf is available towards the coastal areas, and there are many good courses.
Travel
Malaga airport is a one and a half hour journey, more or less, and is 120 kilometres from Gaucin. Gibraltar is an hour away (60kms), Jerez 2 hours. Car hire, or use of, is essential.
Distances
Distances to many places of interest, which include Ronda, Estepona, Gibralter Sotogrande, Mediterranean beaches, Tarifa and the costa de luz, Roman ruins and the national parks of the serrania de Ronda. these places are within half an hour to an hour and a half. Day trips are also possible to morocco, from Tarifa or Algeciras.
Further details
The narrow streets contain all amenities, supermarkets, local markets, health food shop, pharmacy, cash points, tapas bars, restaurants, medical clinic, open in the mornings. Good chance of getting lost! Local swimming pool (July, August). Tennis.
The landscape is rich in bird life and there are many trails for walking and riding. The area boasts 3 national parks. The Romans were the first to occupy the area, followed by the Moors. The village rests at 2 thousand feet, with fabulous views. On a clear day you can see the Rif mountain range in Morocco, which must be about 500kms away.

What a beautiful , large house, this is, we so enjoyed our stay at Gena Rasa, it is indeed set in a large garden with so much space, and is away from the general noise and bustle of village life. The views are something else, you can see the med, Gibraltar and the Rif mountains.. Very clean and tidy.

In Gaucin and La Gena Rasa we feel we found a unique and special environment to get away from our normal lives and relax..
Loved the house and appreciated its space and comfort, particularly when four friends joined us for a week. Gena Rasa is well designed. in fact it has its own micro climate !
