Featuring high wood beamed ceilings, exposed rock walls and split-level living. The accommodations are spacious, stylishly decorated holiday homes with modern facilities and fully equipped American style kitchens. There is a first floor communal sun terrace with 180* views of the sea and surrounding hills, ample sunny and shady spots in the garden, BBQ and picnic area. A rural setting for nature lovers yet close to the white sand beach of La Brona where swimming is safe enough for young children. The maritime footpath below the property leads to the fishing village at O'Freixo - famous for its fresh succulent seafood. The famous pilgrim's city of Santiago de Compostela is an easy 40km day-trip away. To the north A Coruna city is 80kms away and the Portugese border 70 minutes drive south.

The local beach is a 8 minute walk or 0.5km drive. There are plenty of beaches along the coast of Ria Muros y Noia out to the Atlantic Ocean beaches of the Costa de Morte. Visitors are spoilt for choice.

2 golf courses, one in Rois - 30 minute drive away; another in Santiago 40 minute drive away.

About the owner
I live in the stone house attached to the barn conversion with my partner and 2 boys aged 13 and 8. We fell in love with the area at first sight. After spending 15 years in the Canary Islands we were in need of some greenery and seasonal beauty. We have not looked back, after 2 years of hard work our project was completed in May 2009. The winter of 2010 was spent making further improvements to the property - a staircase has been installed to open up the 2nd floor of the barn and access to the 25m2 sunroof terrace. The converted barn property now contains 3 one bedroom suites. After a fantastic summer; the best weather in 20 years and some super guests we have the pleasure to announce further improvements to the property. We can now provide accommodation for up to 20 guests when required.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We travelled the length and breadth of Galicia and settled on the Ria Muros y Noia for its stunning unspoilt beauty, total lack of development and no mass tourism.
The property's central location and coastal position between the Rias Baixas and the Costa de Morte make it an ideal spot for guests to explore from.
The amazing historical pilgrim's city of Santiago de Compostela is a 35 minute drive from the property (45kms to the airport)
We love the area for the wide selection of local seafood - the Ria Muros y Noia is famous for supplying the sweetest clams and oysters in the region; the local wine and endless sweeping white sand beaches devoid of crowds!
Unique benefits of the property
The property is superbly located above the maritime walk along the Ria, a right turn will take you to the fishing village of O'Freixo; roughly a 20 minute walk where you can enjoy the local seafood bars and spectacular views of the Ria. A left turn will take you to the local beach at La Brona in under 10 minutes. The beach is a safe haven for swimming, it is rarely crowded. Guests love picnicking here on the grass in the shade of the pines. There is a children's play area, RedCross life-guard service in summer, showers, pedalo hire, local bars/restaurants and free parking. Our central location gives guests the opportunity to travel north to the coast of A Coruna, south to the border of Portugal, west to Finisterre (world's end) or east to Santiago and inland following the famous 'Camino'.
