Our rustic- style farmhouse, El Monte Bajo sits with all her grace and majesty in an elevated south facing position, gazing out over a tropical garden with the sea lapping against the shore beyond. Some 45 minutes from Malaga airport, moments from the beach and minutes from the coastal pueblo of Nerja. (Click on our website link further down this page). The house and gardens alude dignity & charm enough to earn your respect. Properties like this are not built, they evolve over the decades or centuries. There are no noisy neighbours or apartment blocks around here, instead your views are protected for now and for the future as we sit just above the area’s last pine forest - protected space. The finca or farmhouse is an appealing terracotta roofed home with generous views of the garden, the sea and the precious Sierra Almijara mountains. A hidden jewel not visible from the main road and known only to a handful of locals, this is natural paradise where the air is clean and the birds sing.

Bedrooms: Three spacious double sized bedrooms providing accomodation for six adults.
The villa has multiple additional rooms to accomodate for example a couple of children.
Bathrooms: One bathroom with shower and two hand basins.
Self contained shower room.
In total there are two WCs in the property.
Kitchen: A farmhouse style rustic Spanish kitchen with a wooden seating & eating areas leading into two individual dining rooms. There is an oven, hob, kettle, toaster, dishwasher with a washing machine in the basement
Utility Room: A large washing machine.
Living Rooms: There are four reception rooms, two are laid out as dining rooms, one oas a restful drawing room (with wood burning fire for the winter months). A large airy lounge seats up to 8 and enjoys double aspect panoramic views of the garden, mountains and sea.

Bath and hand towels and linen are provided, please bring your towels for visits to the beach.

About the owner
Danny is a former radio financial journalist and internet entrepreneur who these days takes painstaking care to manage the needs of year round guests to Al Ladino and the neighbouring property, 'El Monte Bajo'. 'We maintain the properties for our own use, they're really 'homes' as opposed to 'purpose made offerings for tourists- we take a lot of pride. The maintenance team is made up of four highly able locals - the gardener, now in his 20th year. The pool & maintenance man together with our double act cleaning team. We do achieve good ratings from guests and a growing number of regulars. The properties are homes nestling in the countryside but with incomparable views - I hope you get the impression you're being looked after by people who will ensure thing goes well!'

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We wanted to be in a Spanish environment without fear of the over commercialisation of so many coastal areas in Spain. There's no fear of hearing an English voice in the vicinity of the villa. The property is unique - a little treasure providing privacy in a stunning environment close to nature but also just 2 minutes from the beach and only minutes from Nerja, with its old moorish streets, and tens of bars, restaurants and Spanish life. Our Spanish maintenance team have been with us years and long may it continue...
