Al Ladino is our little treasure, three kilometres west of the small town of Nerja and some 45 minutes drive east of Malaga airport, it’s just 5 minutes from the beach and 7 minutes by car from our favourite restaurants in town. But we really chose Al Ladino for its understated charm, tranquility, breathtaking views of the mountains, and panoramic vistas of the coastline and town below us. From its elevated position a third of a way up a hillside, Al Ladino sits next to the last remaining pine forest in the area, a protected landscape for now and the future. This is the best of both worlds, ‘la vida tranquila’, the peaceful life, where the air is clean, the birds sing and civilization is not too far away as you relax in the private sun kissed south facing pool. Al Ladino is a charming terracotta roofed ‘casa de campo’. Many people don’t know it exists, but local Spanish people who’ve seen it says it’s ‘preciosa’ - priceless, lovely, gorgeous … so beautiful it’s incomparable!

About the owner
Danny is a former radio financial journalist and internet entrepreneur who these days takes painstaking care to manage the needs of year round guests to Al Ladino and the neighbouring property, 'El Monte Bajo'. 'We maintain the properties for our own use, they're really 'homes' as opposed to 'purpose made offerings for tourists- we take a lot of pride. The maintenance team is made up of four highly able locals - the gardener, now in his 20th year. The pool & maintenance man together with our double act cleaning team. We do achieve good ratings from guests and a growing number of regulars. The properties are homes nestling in the countryside but with incomparable views - I hope you get the impression you're being looked after by people who will ensure thing goes well!'
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We wanted to be in a Spanish environment without fear of hearing the English language spoken and we found it here. The property is unique - a little treasure providing privacy in a stunning environment close to nature but also just 2 minutes from the beach and only minutes from Nerja, with its old Moorish streets, and tens of bars, restaurants and Spanish life. Our Spanish maintenance team have been with us years and long may it continue...
