Our recently built three bedroom apartment is on the second floor, accessible by 2 lifts if needed. It has an L-shaped lounge with dining area. Patio doors to the south facing terrace, looking down La Herradura's main street to the sea. There is both a full bathroom and a separate shower room. The communal pool is open Easter to end-October (approx) and has its own sunny terrace. La Herradura is ideal for families with its 2km beach and normally quiet atmosphere, although becoming bustling during the Spanish holiday season. A selection of restaurants back parts of the beach. They serve a variety of Spanish and international dishes, but few “English” specialities such as roast meats.

Changeover day
Changeover day by arrangement. If another guest is arriving then you will be requested to vacate the apartment by 11.00am, similarly if a guest is leaving then you will be unable to gain access before 16.00.

Communal pool set in sunny terrace (on the same floor as our apartment). Pool depth is approximately 4 to 7 ft.

Coast/Beach
La Herradura's 2km long beach is about 300 yards away (10 minutes walk).

Golf
18 hole course at Velez-Malaga (20 to 30 minutes drive).
2*9 hole course at Salobrena (20 to 30 minutes drive in opposite direction).
18 hole course on south-east Granada (45 to 50 minutes drive).

Skiing
The Sierra Nevada national park provides skiing in winter and beautiful countryside in summer.

Travel
Malaga airport is 45 minutes drive, motorway standard.
Granada airport is also an hours drive, 50% motorway standard.
Car hire is recommended. Local and regional buses stop in La Herradura.

Distances
Almunecar is the nearest town with a good selection of shops and more lively nightlife. It is just 10 minutes drive (about 10 euro by taxi).
Nerja is 10 minutes drive (tourist centre and caves).
Granada (and Alhambra Palace) is 50-60 minutes drive.
All are reachable by bus from La Herradura.

Further details
La Herradura's local amenities are within 300 yards, with a supermarket 100 yards away. There are a good selection of restaurants behind the beach and some good beach bars to relax in.

A booking deposit of 25% is required within 7 days of booking.
Balance is required at least 6 weeks before arrival.
