Notes on accommodation
Finca Lucia is set in orange groves near the sleepy little village of Los Colorados and is ideally situated for either relaxing by the pool or visiting the local area which has plenty on offer for people of all ages and tastes. The nearest town, just two minutes away, is Antas, which still retains a true Spanish charm, but offers all the amenities needed with bars, restaurants and shops. The motorway is 5 mins drive and the villa is within 10 minutes drive of 2 superb new golf courses. There are plenty of fabulous local beaches and Mojacar playa, which is about two miles long, is a short 15 minute drive and offers typical resort facilities. Either side of Mojacar are busy fishing ports and excellent seafood restaurants. If you wish to explore a little inland you will find a wealth of interesting places and customs to see. The views of the distant mountains and the sea from the villa are simply stunning. The villa is ideally set-up for children as are the superb local amenities.
Accessibility
The property is situated in large grounds, with the house being slightly elevated. Provision for wheelchair users is available, as is ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms.
Outside
Outside there are ample areas which are shaded. Large patio furniture, with a selection of tables for larger groups, plenty of chairs, sunbeds, and parasols. There is a purpose built table tennis table, which may also be used if having a party and utilising the brick built barbecue and outside kitchen facilities. The pool is stunning, 14 x 6 mtrs with floodlighting for evening swimming and heated. One end is fitted with Roman steps, the other a spa seating end.
Coast/Beach
The villa is about 10 minutes from the nearest beach. There are several blue flag beaches nearby, several of them with beach bars and facilities and safe for children, including Mojacar, Garrucha and Vera. For those who enjoy "baring all" the largest naturist beach in Europe is also within easy reach! The Cabo De Gata Natural Park lies around 20 minutes away, this stunning protected area should not be missed! One of the beaches San Jose, was last year voted as Spain's top beach!
Golf
There are several stunning golf courses nearby, we offer preferential rates at all of these courses, we can provide a booking facility for you, and would be delighted to assist in organising your golfing holiday!
Skiing
Skiing is available in the Sierra Nevadas which is some 2 hours drive. I have been on many occasions just for the day leaving early morning, and has fabulous skiing available!
Special interest holidays
With the Almeria region having the best light in Europe, the area is most suitable for those looking for a holiday based around photography. We can organise tours for you, also this is possible for birdwatching. Artists to flock to this region, bearing in mind the fabulous colours, long days of sun and the best climate in Europe! Walking and cycling trips may also be arranged, please enquire!
Travel
Very well situated, being only 5 mins from the local motorway network, making transfers to the airports very easy. Almeria 40 mins. Murcia 1hr. Alicante and Granada too are within easy reach. Although it is preferable to have a car, there are several bars within a 10/15 minute stroll of the villa. Main train stations and ports are only a short distance away! Although near to all of these facilities, the villa is situated in stunning private seclusion!
Distances
The local town is Antas, a lovely, Spanish, white washed town with nice bars, restaurants and shops. The nearby Cuevas Del Almanzora is of particular interest, with a fabulous castle and many cave dwellings, still inhabited today! The stunning area of Baza is also great for a day out, offering superb views over the largest water reservoir in Spain, with thermal springs useful for any aches and pains you may bring with you! Very therapeutic!
Further details
There are many smaller "spar" type shops in the local villages, larger supermarkets available in Vera, which is 5 mins by car. here you can buy all the provisions you need - amazing fish counters at prices you won't believe, all fresh for the barby!
Plenty of banks in Antas, together with a doctor, dentist should the need arise! Too many place of interest to go in to, but all information available at the villa. Go-carting, water parks, not to forget the Spaghetti Western villages where Clint made many of his movies! Great fun with cowboy shoot-outs daily!
Booking notes
Prices are per week, 10% discount for second week outside of peak periods. Pool an underfloor heating available charge made for oil used only (Notice required). For those who want to take the office with them on holiday, the office facilities include a printer and permanent high-speed Internet access, which is on 24/7 (you will need to bring your own lap-top). If you require the use of the telephone during your stay this can be arranged with a deposit paid locally. Non-refundable deposit of 25%.

To say this villa and holiday was excellent is an understatement. If there is such a thing as a perfect holiday then we had it at Finca Lucia. We wanted to do something special for my wife's 80th birthday so decided to take all our family (10 adults and five children) to Finca Lucia for one week. It was everything you could wish for. Plenty of room for all of us and plenty of space outside so we did not get under each others feet. We made good use of the excellent facilities, the pool, the tennis court, table tennis, BBQ - we had the pool heated just in case and this proved to be worth-while - we had difficulty getting the grandchildren out of the pool! The villa was immaculately clean and the grounds well tended. The owner, Wayne, was extremely helpful and is prepared to go to any lengths to ensure that you really enjoy your holiday. The management team at the villa were excellent. An undiscovered Gem!

About the owner
I put a lot of effort in to ensuring that clients have a great holiday in my villa. I become actively involved, if required, to assist in any arrangements necessary, and my experience in organising and knowledge of the local area I am sure would be invaluable to you. I enjoy cooking at home, entertaining, golfing, going to the beaches and dining out, sounds like I was on a permanent holiday when living there! Almost! try it!
Why the owner chose a home in this location
It took me two years of searching southern spain before I found this incredible area. Often referred to as "forgotten spain" this is the warmest and driest climate in the whole of Europe. The stunning skies, given the lack of artificial light, makes for amazing star-gazing, and during the day, phtographers and artists alike flock to this area to pursue the stunning colours.
The main beach resorts at Mojacar and Garrucha have maintained sensible building levels which do not impact on the surrounding area the way other parts of coastal spain have. The area is typical of "old" spain, with many traditions still living on here. I was fortunate to spend time enjoying their very placid way of life and cannot emphasise enough how relaxing and magical this area is.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa is within 5 minutes of the motorway network affording easy access to airports, beaches and supermarkets, bars and restaurants, whilst retaining the privacy, quiet setting and stunning views I searched for.
There are many local spanish bars for you to try the "menu del dia", typically good local produce cooked the spanish way and served to you traditionally for a modest price! Many of these are within walking distance, all you may see on the way is the goat-herd!!
The sheer size and well thought out design of the villa means that whether you are a group of 16 or a family of four, you will be equally at home. You can truly have "peace & plenty" at this property, past clients have referred to it as an "undiscovered gem"!
