Notes on accommodation
Cot/high chair available on request. Free standing fan in master bedroom in case preferred to air-conditioning. Child friendly resort with several well equipped play areas and communal swimming pools, to make new friends. Young children should be supervised in all pools. The El Valle resort has a good level of security including gate house and patrols offering peace of mind. Entertainment for kids & big kids - Black Wii console, two motion handsets, one nunchuck, two driving wheels, wii sports game, wii sports resort game and mario kart game. Free WiFi.

Outside
At the front of the property there is a car port and off road parking for a second/third car. There are terraced areas all around the property and at the rear there is a Private pool (approx. 4 x 8 mts) which benefits from the sun all day, (the Murcia region has approximately 320 sunshine per annum) pool side shower, a covered BBQ area (with built in BBQ)dining table/chairs for 6 people and a separate outside seating area on the far side of the pool with sofa, two chairs and coffee table (underneath a pergola with retractable and extendible awining to shade you from the mid day sun). There is also a very attractive feature planting area with water sculpture. There are also 6 lie down sun loungers. The lighting on the outside of the property is simply stunning adding to the whole out door living experience. Villa Destina also benefits from some attractive plants at the front and pool side.
Coast/Beach
Approx. 15 mins drive. The Mar Menor Lagoon is renowned for its therapeutic minerals, warm clean waters and offers a choice of sandy beaches. The promenades are perfect for cycling and walking, with numerous restaurants, cafes and bars offering fresh seafood, local fare a tapas. Calm safe waters, with 'Blue Flag' status make it ideal both for children and for the extensive water sports that are on offer including Jet skiing, wind surfing, sailing, fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
Golf
This '5' star Polaris World Golf Resort boasts a Jack Nicklaus designed 'Signature' golf course (probably the best in the entire region). It is a truly stunning course, surrounded by mountains and has views of the Mar Menor Lagoon and world famous La Manga Strip. The course will test golfers of all levels with its brilliant design and landscaping (lakes, streams, hills with caves etc.) The course is mainly flat. Guests will also be allowed to play on any of the other 'Nicklaus trail' courses, all are situated in the neighbouring Polaris World Resorts and are accessible by a complimentary bus service. There are also many neighbouring golf courses within a short drive. On site there is a well stocked golf shop where lessons can be arranged. Golf clubs, buggies, trolleys etc can be hired. There is also a driving range. Polaris World Resorts offer golfers a dream destination! but with plenty to do for the non golfer. El Valle course is reputed to be the best desert style course in Europe.
Skiing
Water skiing within 15/20 minutes drive, ideal conditions in the Mar Menor Lagoon due to it's calm waters, which remain warm late into the summer months.
Travel
Car hire is recommended as there is plenty to do in the local area, from golfing, visiting the shopping malls, a day at the zoo, water parks, National Parks or visiting the historic Towns of Murcia and (the port town) Cartagena. All within 20 minutes. Polaris World Resorts do have complimentary buses between resort; and beach club. Murcia Airport (San Javier) is 15 minute drive, Alicante 45 minutes, both benefit from low cost flights and have a choice of car hire companies on offer.
Distances
Polaris Worlds El Valle has its own mini town centre which is a gentle 10 minute walk or 2 minutes by car. It offers 2 restaurants, 2 bars and shops including well stocked supermarket. San Javier (new) shopping mall with cinema, 10 pin bowling, food hall etc. 15 mins. Cartagena (historic port town) shopping malls, eat/drink next to the marina, beautiful historic buildings etc. 20 mins. Historic Murcia with shopping malls, zoo, water park etc 20 mins drive.

About the owner
Wendy and Nigel Jealous, married in 1976, with 3 grown up children. We live in Ashby De La Zouch, Leicestershire, UK. We love holidaying as it allows us to indulge in our favourite hobbies, namely - relaxing, eating, drinking and golf. Our stunning penthouse on Mar Menor golf resort, is beautifully furnished, has a 65 sq m roof terrace boasting stunning views of the golf course, lake, swimming pools and mountains. There are numerous clean, safe, sandy beaches 5-10 mins drive away. It is very peaceful but close to the action! We also have a beautiful villa on Polaris Worlds 5 star flagship 'El Valle' Resort. Peaceful, but still offers families plenty to do besides golf. It has a Jack Nicklaus golf course, tennis, gym, private pool and other communal pools, restaurants, bars and shops.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
This region of Spain enjoys on average 320 of sunshine each year! Easy and cheap to get to with the low cost airlines. We often pop over for long weekends. Murcia (San Javier) Airport only 15-20 minutes away, Alicante Airport 45-50 mins. 22 quality golf courses all within a 15 minutes drive. A good selection of safe and clean beaches (Blue Flag) within 15 -20 minutes, as well as a good selection of restaurants and bars. Great seafood and steaks. No high rise apartment blocks, no high rise hotels, and especially no lager louts. Set in an area of National Parks with mountain views. This is a very traditional area of Spain. 20 minutes drive from the historic Cities of Cartagena (with its port) and Murcia (with its river running through) both are beautiful, with good shopping.
