There are three main beach areas in L' Escala, Empúries, Riells and Montgó, all are soft sand, all excellent swimming and snorkelling, windsurfing conditions, lifeguards and first aid post are on all beaches. Walking times from the villa to Montgó 15 mins and Empúries is a 10 min with car.
