Our villa was built in the Catalan style which was popular when it was built some years ago. So it has wonderful high beamed ceilings, shuttered windows, lots of air flow through the house in summer and yet cosy in winter. It has lots of charm and character. It has been completely refurbished so has new bathrooms, new kitchen with local granite worktops, is bright and airy throughout. The garden and terraces are south facing so the sun shines on the pool all day long. There is a lovely covered terrace off the kitchen and to the side of the bbq/outside kitchen area. At the side of the heated pool there is another covered terrace with a table and benches providing another shady area. The villa is in Begur you can walk into the village to shop, wander around the market, take in some music or dine at leisure in any of the numerous bars and restaurants that offer a wide choice of menus to cater for all tastes. There are some wonderful sandy coves nearby, Aigua Blava is our favourite.

Notes on prices
Due to cancellation 10% discount on weeeks 11 to 25 June.
All of the prices quoted are inclusive of linen and towel rental, vat, taxes, utility bills and normal final cleaning. There are no hidden extras.
For bookings of multiples of a week we offer a cleaning service and change of linen at the end of each week. If you wish we can provide additional maid service.
Changeover day
Normally changeover day in June, July, August and September is Saturday. Sometimes it is possible to be flexible, depending on bookings for the weeks before and after. We will try to suit your needs if we can at all.

| Living Rooms: | Living space is split level. From the sitting room are two steps up to the kitchen/dining area. The living area opens onto a south facing dining terrace which is part covered and has a seating area to one side and a 'summer kitchen' & bbq to the other. |
| Other: | The sitting room is well equipped with English speaking Satellite TV, DVD, CD player, etc., There is a small library of books and DVDs available that you are welcome to use. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Bath towels and Bed linen are provided. If you are staying longer than a week we provide a change of linen etc., at the end of each week and a light cleaning service. A daily maid service can be arranged if you let us know in advance. |

Notes on accommodation
We are very conscious of the safety of little children so have put a gate on the terrace leading to the pool so that they can't access the pool without adult supervision.
Outside
Our pool is private and solar heated. It is approx 8m x 4m with Roman steps into it making it easily accessible for both young and old.
The garden is largely terraced and laid out in flower beds, having said that the terrace at the pool is large enough for children to play safely and flat.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach to this villa is Aigua Blava arguably the most beautiful little cove on the Costa Brava. The sand is fine and white leading gently into the sea without a shelf so ideal for little ones and non swimmers. There are a number of other beaches nearby with wonderful snorkelling, rock pools etc., Some more commercialised than others all with a certain charm that we don't find in other parts of the Costa Brava or in Spain, that is what makes it so fabulous here!
Golf
If golf is your game then you are spoilt for choice in this area. You could play everyday and not repeat the same course twice within 30 mins of the villa. There is an English speaking golf society which we can put you in touch with who are happy to have guests join them in competition once a week.
There is a guide book in the house with the details you will need for all the local clubs.
Skiing
We are a couple of hours from the ski slopes but it is do-able in one day. We ski from November to April in the Pyrenees leaving in the morning and coming back when the lifts close. It isn't practical on a daily basis but certainly feasible once or twice a week. Late in the season when the sun is shining it is magic to find fresh slopes and still feel the sun on your back.
Special interest holidays
We can arrange activity holidays through a local company who organise, both walking and cycling groups. From cycling for softies to 'following the tour' we can have your holiday tailor made to cater for such activities. Groups can be accompanied or not as you wish. Cycling/Walking this area is sheer pleasure. The local government have invested and provide lots of off road tracks providing safe and accessible routes well sign posted and charted through the countryside and along the coast with all levels of fitness catered for. We are happy to arrange the activities for you please ask for further information.
Travel
The nearest airport is Girona (Barcelona-Girona with Ryanair) and is 45mins away.
Barcelona is 90 mins and is also accessible by train from Flaca.
To really enjoy this area we suggest a car so that you can get out and about. However, it is not really necessary particularly in July/August when there are buses to the beaches every hour from a nearby stop.
Distances
From the villa it is about a five minute walk into the heart of Begur (church square).
Further details
There is a wide range of services in Begur, banks, tourist office, restaurants, bars, boutiques, supermarkets and local park with childrens facilities. There are tennis courts and a centre for young people with internet cafe, soft drinks bar, table tennis, table football, where the teenagers of all nationalities 'hang out'. Some of the bars in the village offer internet access and there is free wifi in the centre of Begur.
Booking notes
We ask for a deposit on confirmation of the booking with balance payment 8 weeks before you arrive. We ask for payment in euros by bank transfer.

We couldn't believe the warm welcome we got when we arrived late in the evening. We were tired and hungry and were so glad to see the 'welcome pack' you had left for us. (Especially the wine!) It was a wonderful start to a fantastic holiday. We loved Begur which is a special place and are so glad we chose 'la Perla' as our base. It was bliss! The McGovern family.
This was our third visit to the area and definitely the best. We were really pleased with the villa. We had everything that we needed and really didn't want to move out. We cooked every night bbq'd on the terrace in the evenings, good company, wine.HEAVEN!
