The penthouse is on the top 5th floor. It is reached by lift direct from a secure basement garage. The lounge and both bedrooms have direct access via full length sliding windows to the private terrace, which has a BBQ, sun awning, table, chairs and sun loungers. The apartment has a very good air-conditioning system. There is English freeview flat screen television and a DVD player with a good selection of films and books. The old town and new town, with numerous shops, bars and restaurants, swimming pool and the beach are all within 10 minutes walk. By car it is about 1 hours drive from Malaga, 30 minutes from Granada and about 5 mins to Motril golf.

Changeover dates and times are flexible although we would normally like the apartment vacated by 10am to give time for cleaning.

Bedroom 2 has double bed with fitted wardrobe.
Bathrooms: En-suite to bedroom one with bath, shower over, wc, bidet and hand wash basin.
Bathroom has shower, wc, bidet and wash hand basin.
Kitchen: Cooker, ceramic hob fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.
Utility Room: The utility room is off the terrace and holds equipment for the BBQ, terrace and beach.
Living Rooms: Living room is open plan with the kitchen and indoor dining area. Leather sofa, Barcelona chair, lounge chair. Television with free view TV and DVD player. Music player, there are numerous music and TV dvds. A round dining table with 4 dining chairs.

All towels ( inc. beach towels) and linen are included. The property is cleaned and linen changed between lets. For longer lets linen and towels to be changed.

Notes on accommodation
the apartment is on the top floor of a small development. There is only one other apartment on this floor. The apartment and 120 square metre private terrace are not overlooked.
This makes for a peaceful and secure area.

Outside
The very large terrace, about 120 square metres is private and not overlooked. There are views over the town, snowy mountains, castle and sea. There is a utility room leading off the terrace which holds BBQ, terrace and beach equipment. There is an outdoor table and chairs, loungers and a built in BBQ. There are numerous ornaments, pots and plants.

Coast/Beach
10 minutes walk to the beaches of Salobrena. One is shingle, the other is pebble. There is a sandy beach at Almunecar about 5 miles away. Also 10 minutes walk to the coast villages of Caleta and La Guardia which have small but interesting bars and restaurants.

Golf
About 5 minutes by car to Motril Golf Course.

Skiing
Skiing is available usually between November and April, but depending on weather conditions, in the Sierra Nevada mountains about 40 minutes drive.

Travel
A car is not essential as there is a very good and inexpensive bus service that connects to most places. Cars can be hired at Malaga and Granada airports, distances are about 100 and 60 kilometres so driving time of an hour and 0.5 hours.

Distances
There are 100s of places of interest being the last stronghold of the Moorish occupation which lasted over 400 years. In the Alpujarras, the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevadas there are 60 Moorish villages, 3 of which are world heritage sites. The Alhambra at Grenada is world famous, as is the Mezquita at Cordoba.

Further details
There is every facility in the town, banks numerous fashion shops, bars restaurants, and 3 supermarkets, all within 10 minutes walk. There is a daily market and a twice weekly open air market (Tues & Fri)

Booking notes
Booking can be made by email, telephone or text. A 25 p.c. deposit is required and the balance is due 6 weeks before the holiday. There is a £100 or 100 euro damage deposit which is paid on arrival.

A large number, probably over half of our guests, email us to say how much they enjoyed Salobrena and their stay at the apartment.

Helga Germany wrote. Location is great, so many things to see and do, but most of all enjoyed staying at your apartment with that wonderful big terrace and the impressive views. It just had everything we needed and was impeccably clean.

House swap
Would be interested for anywhere with property of similar size and quality.

About the owner
We had a farm in France for years intending it for retirement. When we tried a winter there we found it as cold as the Uk. We then drove around Spain looking for an alternative. When we saw Salobrena driving from Granada we knew this was the place and Within 2 days had bought a house in the old town. We renovated this but found there were problems of car parking and only access on foot. We like Spanish people but they tend to make more noise and go to bed much later than we are used to. When we saw this for sale 4 years ago on the top floor with a private terrace even bigger than the apartment, we jumped at the chance and have never regretted it. I like the sea owning a boat for many years. We enjoy walking in Wales but more so along the mule tracks and in the villages of the Alpujarras.
