Large Beach apartment in Cadiz City. Located in a residential street, one street back from the sea front. The apartment is in the modern part of the city with the beach, between the avenue and seafront. The old town is a pleasant 25 minute stroll along the promenade, or bus stop (bus every 10 mins) is 2 minutes away. Parking is particularly problematic in the old town, so this keeps your holiday stress free. You can get by without a car here. Great range of restaurants and bars/cafes close by as well as French patisserie (best croissants and cakes in Cadiz), ice cream parlours, beach bars, fresh daily market and supermarket (all under 5 mins walk away). Local bakery open til 10pm daily. Selection of fast food and takeaway services also near by - pizza and pasta/tapas/Burger King, McD, kebab, chinese. Children's beach club also close by as well as squares with play areas. There is also a DVD rental store in the street.

Notes on accommodation
There are two large portable electrical fans to keep cool with, although the apartment has windows on all sides - so it is possible to have a breeze through the apartment all the time, if you keep the windows open at night.
Accessibility
The apartment is on the 3rd floor (top floor) and there is no lift. But the stairs are not that bad.
Outside
Free car parking is available on the street, or close by. There is also a public underground car park 100m from the apartment.
Coast/Beach
The city's main beach is 1 minute walk away and stretches to over 8km. There is also La Caleta Beach which has castles on each end of it in the old town. If you feel the need to explore the coast more there are ferries to El Puerto de Santa Maria, Rota and Sanlucar (all across the bay of Cadiz) from the port, great for day trips. Or head south to La Barrosa Beach at Chiclana 30 mins, Conil 40 mins or Los Canos de Meca (Trafalgar) 50 mins.
Golf
Montecastillo Golf and Country Park (home of the Volvo Masters) 25 minutes by car. Sanlucar Golf Course 30 mins, Sherry Park Golf Jerez (20 minutes). Novo Sancti Petri Course (27 holes designed by Sevi Ballasteros) 35 mins. San Andreas Golf 35 mins and Montenmedia Golf, Country and Horseriding Park 45 mins. Valderama Golf Course home of the Spanish Open 1 hour 15 mins and Benalup Golf Course 30 mins.
Special interest holidays
There are many surfers and kite surfers further along the beach (15 mins walk) with surf shops also along the sea front.
Travel
Daily flights from Stansted to Jerez (30 mins drive to Cadiz) with Ryanair. There is a bus service from Jerez Airport to Cadiz. Daily flights to Seville (Iberia/Ryanair/BA) - (125km) 1 hour 30 mins. Daily flights to (Easyjet) Gibraltar (1 hour 30 mins drive to Cadiz). Alternatively fly to (Ryanair/Easyjet/BA/Aer Lingus/Jet2), Malaga (2 hours and 30 mins).
Distances
Jerez is 30 mins away (30km) Seville is about 1 hour 15 mins away. Cordoba 2 hours 20 mins. Malaga 2 hours 15 mins. Marbella 90 mins. The roads here are good - mostly motorway to these cities (the motorway starts 7km from Cadiz). White towns of Vejer and Arcos de la Frontera 45 mins each. Morocco 35 minutes by ferry from Tarifa (one hour drive away).
Further details
The city of Cadiz is the oldest in Western Europe, it is popular with Spanish holiday makers and more of a secret to other nationalities. Restaurant and bar prices here can generally be cheaper than larger international holiday resorts. Cadiz has a wealth of history and is perfect for walking around. The Cathedral, El Populo area, the plazas, the Genoves Park, the castles, and city walls all make for exciting strolls. Amazing sunsets in the evening as the sun sinks into the sea. For all you swimmers out there - I believe the sea water to be warmer than on the Costa del Sol. Cadiz is really an island with water on 3 sides.

Payment by bank transfer or cheque. Also in Winter I hold a £50 fuel surcharge deposit, If the electricty bill for the week is under 50, I refund this back to you.(Its usually under 50 for 2 months)

We loved it. Came from Malaga 2 and a half hour scenic drive, through gorgeous old towns with lots of storks nests on the way! We were delighted with the apartment. It is spacious & airy.The location is so good- it is just a skip to the beach perfect for early morning swims followed by breakfast fresh from the local bakery! The water was amazing too, really clean and very warm Atlantic waves miles of them!!At night the old town of Cadiz is captivating. We walked from the apartment in around 20 mins as we watched the sun go down. The owner gave us plenty recommendations for places to eat/drink and we were not disappointed. Great tapas, and great value for money. The atmosphere in the old town at night was really electric. We even took in a local flamenco night. Cadiz perfect for couples or families alike -Would highly recommend Cadiz and this apartment. We will definitely be going back! - T OConnor, Ireland
