The local village of Palau Saverdera has bakers, grocers, butchers, fishmongers, ATM etc along with excellent restaurants. Slightly further away (about 5 – 10 minute drive) there is the water park, go-karting, horse riding and of course the beautiful beaches, water sports and amenities of Roses, Empuriabrava, Cadaques, Llanca, Port de la Selva and more. All forms of water sport are available including water skiing, wind surfing, kite boarding, scuba diving, snorkeling, banana boats, donuts, and jet skis. As a golfing destination, the Costa Brava is second to none. It has been voted the World's best emerging area for the sport. Peralada Golf Club, a PGA qualifying course, is only 20 minutes away by car. There are five other major courses within an hour of the villa, including the PGA de Catalunya course course (voted one of the top ten courses in Europe by Golf World magazine). Figueres with it's Dali museum is within 25 min; France and Girona 30-35 min and Barcelona under 2 hours.

Prices are for the property per week (Saturday to Saturday) in euros.
Cleaning costs should be added to the above prices at 95 euros.
Deposit of 50% required upon booking. Remaining 50% plus cleaning all due 4 weeks (28 days) before arrival. 500 Euro cash damage deposit on arrival to be returned on departure.
Midweek rentals, weekends only or less than 7 nights also available outside of July/August.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday, however this is flexible in low season.

Accessibility
The house itself is on one level, however as the house in on a hillside there are steps down from the road to the house and again from the house to the pool.
Outside
Arched dining terrace outside the lounge providing welcome shade and fabulous views including some spectacular sunsets over the Pyrenees. Built-in BBQ with teak dining table and seating for for eight. Private and secluded 8 x 4m pool has its own terrace areas with ample space for the sunbeds and umbrella, and enjoys the same great views over the bay and Pyrenees. There is a garden all around the property stocked with many plants and herbs and even an olive tree! There are communal tennis courts nearby.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are Roses, Santa Marguerita and Empuriabrava all withing ten minutes drive. These have fantastic golden sand and quite often life guards on duty in the summer months. Water sports are well catered for including scuba diving, windsurfing, kite surfing, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skis and the usual banana fun rides for the children.
Golf
The nearest golf course is at Perelada, a PGA qualifying course which is about 10 miles or a 20 minute drive. There are five other courses within an hour's drive including the PGA de Catalunya course (Golf World magazine rates this as one of the top ten course in Europe), Emporda Golf Club and Toremirona Golf Club both about 25 minutes drive.
Skiing
The ski season is from around 20th December till 20th April. Ski resorts accessible from Casa Leander are:
1. Setcasas; Valter 2000, under 2 hours drive.
2. La Molina-Masella, aprox. 2h 30min.(much larger resort)
3. Font Romeo, in France, 2h 30min.
4. Andorra, 4 hours
Travel
The nearest airports are Girona (Barcelona Girona) served by Ryan Air about 40 minutes drive and Perpignan about 50 minutes, again served by Ryanair. Barcelona is about a 1 hr 40 minutes drive served by all the major airlines. A car is essential and may be hired at all of the airports. We are just 30 minutes from the French border and driving from the UK can take as little as 12 hours (about 750 from the French ports)

Local shops can be found in Palau Saverdera, numerous supermarkets and shops and restaurants in Roses and the surrounding areas.
Sky Diving is available from Empuriabrava airport. The Salvador Dali museum is in Figures and his house in Cadaques. There are large markets in Roses on Sundays, Empuriabrava on Saturdays and various times during the week in other towns.
Roses is steeped in history with origins going back to the 8th century BC when the first settlers arrived here from ancient Greece. The 1960s saw the arrival of international tourists who have since transformed this centuries old fishing port into a thoroughly modern and popular holiday destination.
The town was originally named Rhodes by the Greeks in honour of their homeland. The Romans later developed a thriving fishing industry here and today Roses is home to the Costa Brava's largest fishing fleet, based alongside the modern yacht marina. Fresh fish can be bought from the dockside and the town has some great fish restaurants.

Deposit of 50% is required at reservation. The remainder (including cost of cleaning and linen) is due in full 4 weeks (28 day) before arrival along with a breakages deposit of £500. This will be refunded within 28 days of your departure. No pets accepted.
