Located within 10 minutes drive of 8 championship golf courses (including Valderrama), it is ideal for both family and sporting holidays. The apartment is in the prestigious Marina de La Duquesa complex on the Costa del Sol. The private gated complex is right on the beach front with four private pools, a sauna, tennis court and small gym and is set in beautiful tropical gardens. There is a designated secure parking space beneath the complex and lift access to all floors. Duquesa Marina is one of the prettiest and unspoilt marinas on the Costa Del Sol. There is good access from both Gibraltar (20 miles) and Malaga (50 miles) via both coastal and toll roads. Gibraltar, Selwo National African Theme Park, the millionaires playground of Puerto Banus, Estepona and the famous Andalucian white villages in the hills are all a short drive away.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible, but we do ask guests to leave by midday on the day of departure.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is on the fourth floor and is fully air-conditioned with marble floors throughout.
There is a designated secure parking space beneath the complex, and lift access to all floors.
Outside
The apartment complex is right on the beach front with four private pools (one heated) and plenty of sun loungers, a sauna, tennis court and small gym, and is set in beautiful tropical gardens.
Coast/Beach
Duquesa Port is one of Spain's best kept secrets. Attractive promenades encircling the marina of gently bobbing boats offer a variety of restaurants, bars and cafés in which to while away the hours.
The waterfront is closed to traffic, making it safe for families and free from pollution.
To either side of the port are lovely sandy beaches which never get crowded, both of which have beach bars open during the summer months.
Golf
The apartment is only a 2 minute drive from La Duquesa Golf Club which was designed by Robert Trent Jones. La Duquesa is one of Costa del Sol's most varied courses and is renowned for its spectacular landscape with views of the mountains and the Mediterranean.
There are a large number of other courses all within a 30 minute drive from the apartment, including: -
La Quinta Golf and Country Club - this course consists of three 9 hole courses with tight fairways which make it quite a demanding course.
Estepona Golf Club - the course has wonderful views of the mountains and is surrounded by green fields. The rough tends to be difficult.
Alcaidesa - reminiscent of the Scottish Links, this excellent eighteen hole golf course has spectacular views of the Mediterranean, Straits of Gibraltar and North Africa.
Monte Mayor - the course meanders through a mountain valley, with raised tees and plateaued fairways. Possibly the Costa del Sol's most spectacular course.
Travel
The nearest airports are Malaga and Gibraltar.
From the airport you may choose to take one of the many available taxis to the apartment.
Alternatively you may wish to drive directly to the apartment.
From Malaga airport the apartment is around 45 minutes drive on the local motorway, and from Gibraltar airport it is a 30 minute drive. Car hire can be arranged from the airport through one of the many car hire companies with airport offices.
Distances
Sabinillas is a 5 minute walk along the beach. It is an authentic Spanish fishing village, with a traditional selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
Andalucia is famous for its white villages, nestled in the surrounding hills and mountains. The closest of these, Casares, is a 20 minute drive through the countryside, and makes a great location for lunch while you admire the breathtaking views.
Further details
British owned Gibraltar is an alternative day trip, with its VAT free prices, spectacular scenery and the only native monkey colony in Europe. Just 30 minutes drive away, first time visitors will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse range of attractions on offer in Gibraltar.
Steeped in history that has evolved from its strategic location at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula where Europe meets Africa, visitors are assured of breathtaking scenery, wildlife and architecture that captures the unique flavour of this Mediterranean City and its inhabitants.
As a VAT-free jurisdiction, Gibraltar's popularity with visitors is enhanced by its value added shopping experience in famed Main Street. Gibraltar also offers a wide range of activities including rock touring (see the apes), sailing, diving, fishing and bird watching.
Just before Marbella, approaching from La Duquesa, is the international resort of Puerto Banus with its millionaire playground of floating palaces and luxury cars. In addition to the yachts, the port is chock full of all the appropriate designer names such as Versace, Armani, Jimmy Choo, Chloe, Louis Vuitton and Donna Karen for the most discerning shoppers.
Cosmopolitan Life can be found only 20 minutes away in the "jet-set" city of Marbella with its hustle and bustle. Visit at night to experience the famous bustling night life in the numerous bars and clubs, or try your luck on the roulette wheel at the celebrity frequented casino.
Shopping experiences of every kind are available ranging from the upscale El Corte Inglés, Spain's premier department store, to the sprawling La Cañada mall just outside Marbella, to the infinite variety of small shops and boutiques lining the cobble-stoned streets of Old Marbella.
You may want to consider taking day trips to the following: Morocco in Africa (Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakech), Algeciras, Granada, Seville, or skiing 2 to 3 hours drive away in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
