Begur is a lovely old medieval town which has several good restaurants and bars, with many chic boutiques. The striking silhouette of the medieval castle overlooking the town, its numerous colonial styles houses, the layout and profile of the streets and alleys of the old town besides the old fishermen's huts still conserved in the coves, testify to a long and intense history in which pirates, sailors, coral gatherers, fishermen, returning from overseas and entire generations of Begur have populated these lands which, despite all the inevitable transformations, have lost not a trace of their roots. The apartment is in an area of great natural beauty with a large range of leisure pursuits including scuba diving and golf. It is also very popular with walkers and ramblers throughout the year. The apartment is on a quiet road leading to the marine reserve of Ses Negres (2 minutes walk) between the beaches of Aiguafreda (10 minutes walk) and Sa Riera (2.3km) and about 5km from Begur.

Saturday but flexible out of season.

Bath towels and bedding are included in the price. Beach towels are not provided. The apartment is cleaned before and after each rental period. In the case of rental periods of over 1 week, additional cleaning can be requested (at an additional cost). |

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is available all year. Its proximity to the beach makes it very desirable in the busy summer months. Suitable for children.
Accessibility
Ground floor apartment accessed by stairs with 3 steps and therefore is not suitable for people with mobility restrictions. There is no lift.
Outside
There is a covered terrace from the living room. Nice 15 meters long shared swimming pool with lawned areas. The garden is well established and mature with communal area. Parking place.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is within easy reach of a number of beautiful bays and beaches. The nearest, Sa Riera, is just a 2km drive away and there are many others within a 15-minute drive, including Pals, Sa Tuna, Aiguablava, Tamariu, Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell. Each of the bays listed offer beautiful sandy beaches and a good selection of local bars and/or restaurants.
Golf
Many golf courses in the region including a championship course at Pals, just 10 minutes or so drive.
Skiing
The nearest ski resort is approx 2.5 hours drive.
Special interest holidays
We own a dive centre called Diving Costa Brava in Begur (5 min drive from the apartment) and we offer scuba diving trips and PADI courses. We also offer boat trips in the Ses Negres Natural park and snorkeling trips.
Travel
There are several budget airlines that fly to Costa Brava such as Aer Lingus, Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and BMI Baby. Girona (45 minutes), Barcelona (90 minutes) and Perpignan (90 minutes). Car hire is recommended.
Distances
Gerona - 30 minutes. A lively, sophisticated city with tapas bars, museums, cathedral. Barcelona - 75 minutes but a good train journey from Flaça station which is approximately 25 minutes. Figueras - Dali museum, 60 mins. Platja d'aro - Aquadiver (an excellent water park) 20 minutes. Palafrugell - 15 minutes. Sunday market, fish market, cake shops, good quality clothes, linens, shoes and restaurants. Medieval towns of Pals, Peratallada, Ullastret and the ruined fort at Torroella de Montgrí.
Further details
The area is well served by supermarkets selling absolutely everything. In Begur village there are many smaller shops, bakeries, butchers and lovely boutiques whilst the nearby town of Palafrugell offers larger hypermarkets. The Grau winery located 2km from Begur houses a million bottles of wines from local wineries and all over the world! The area offers a wide range of both inland and water-based activities, including; scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, wind surfing, sailing, horse riding, tennis, golf, cycling, go-carting and hiking. The views of the coastline and pine clad hills are breathtaking from Begur and the bay of Sa Riera resembles a picture postcard. There are beautiful medieval towns nearby such as Pals and Peratalleda (a moated village with cobbled streets, tapas bars and antique shops). Visitors to this area return year after year as it offers something for all age groups.

30% deposit on reservation. Balance due 2 months prior to holiday. 300 euros (refundable) breakage deposit. All directions/instructions issued prior to holiday. Optional extras subject to availability include: cot. beach towels, grocery delivery, airport transfer, car hire- can be booked on your behalf and flights- can be booked on your behalf. Once the apartment is booked and payment has been made, it is not refundable.
