If you crave to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the ideal place for you!! Would you like to walk amongst the fruit trees or on the dry river bed or sit and read a book? Within a short drive you can be amongst the white villages of Spain whilst still enjoying the peace and tranquillity of your holiday home. If you require breakfast, lunch, picnics or evening meals, all can be provided at a reasonable charge. Please note we have 2 friendly dogs, 4 cats and chickens (free range eggs available anytime at no extra charge!) Set amongst orange and lemon groves, adjoining the owners property, is our homely and comfortable guest casita. We grow many vegetables which you can pick whenever you need or try a fresh orange straight from the tree. Why not come for the Callosa dén Sarria fiestas held the 2nd weekend in October.

Summer kitchen with barbecue, large hotplate and hob etc. Why not make a meal in the open air and enjoy your food with glass of wine watching the sun go down behind the mountains! Shaded covered terrace - when it is too hot to sit in the full sun overlooking the swimming pool. Gardens and mountainside beyond. Many sunny or shaded places to sit, relax and sunbathe in the garden and pool areas.
Coast/Beach
Nearest beach, Albir or Altea - 25 minutes by car. Calpe - 30 minutes.
Golf
25 minutes by car - 2 golf courses available. Many more within 1 hours drive.
Special interest holidays
The ideal spot for walking, mountain climbing, cycling and bird and nature watching, but if you fancy a day out, we are ideally situated for numerous places to visit, ie the beautiful village of Guadalest, only 10 minutes away where you can take a solar boat trip around the reservoir. Local fiestas are held the 2nd weekend in October and are the best in the area. Algar Falls is only 10 minutes away, where you can swim or dive into the rocky water pools and spend the afternoon dining in one of the many restaurants in the area. Travel from the Algar over the Coll de Rates mountains to the beautiful Jalon Valley (wine growing region) and sample the local wines at the many bodegas. Terra Mitica and Terra Natura are only 25 minutes drive away as is Aqualandia and Mundomar, all great days out for the young and young at heart! Benidorm again only 25-30 minutes away.Why not visit Altea with the quaint streets, fabulous shops, galleries and numerous restaurants, some of the best in the area.

About the owner
My husband and I moved from Yorkshire to our home in the valley of Guadalest nearly 8 years ago. We enjoy the rural life yet are not far from local villages. Our dogs are very friendly and once they have met you settle down and just lay in the shade. If a hen strays into the garden, Ruby(one of our dogs) rounds her up and pushes her back into the orchard!
There are many easy and beautiful walks in the area and you can walk right up the riverbed to the dam at Guadalest. Previous guests enjoy the peace and tranquillity of our home, start their break with the intention of visiting local places, and end up relaxing around home enjoying the beautiful surroundings!
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought our home in 2003 when we came to Spain to live. The house was just a store, and my husband has worked hard to make it a lovely home. About 5 years ago, we added a self contained extension for guests. We have had the pool about 5 years and the garden is now well established along with the allotment where we grow seasonable vegetables. When we bought the house, we were advised to do any work 'poco a poco' which means 'little by little', hence the name.
Unique benefits of the property
Poco a Poco is set off the beaten track yet only 5 minutes from the nearest town and convenient for all amenities. This is our 3rd summer of letting and previous guests have all said that it is a real 'home from home'. All our guests have come as strangers but leave as friends.
One of the best things about letting out our property, is seeing guests visibly relax during their stay at Poco a Poco.
