This stunning town house is on the doorstep of the wonderful Tejeda natural park. Tastefully renovated we have kept many of its original Spanish features. The fantastic roof terraces perfect for sunbathing and alfresco dining is a perfect place to relax and take in the warm Spanish nights,The terrace has possibly the best views over the town and surrounding mountains. Situated in a sleepy street close to the small historical church, the location is quiet but very central making life stress free with a stroll to friendly local shops and bars.The traditional friendly bars and restaurants will cater to your every needs Lake Bermejales is only a 5 mins drive away and is perfect for long lazy days swimming and picnicking. The small village of Bermejales also has some charming bars and restaurants waiting to be discovered. The fantastic lake itself surrounded by the stunning Tejeda mountains is truly breathtaking. The nearby Village of Fornes has an open air swimming pool open June - Sept.

Living Rooms: The living/ dining room has soft furnishings and is complemented by the traditional fully equiped Andalucian kitchen. For those who come in the winter, cosy up at night with full satellite UK TV!

All linen and towels are provided and will be changed on a weekly basis depending on the length of the stay. The owners live locally and will be on hand to give any assistance required.

Notes on accommodation
The property would suit people of all ages, as the bedrooms are set out: bedroom and bathroom ground floor. Bedroom and bathroom 2nd floor with the kitchen/ living room in between.

Accessibility
The Town is easily accessed from Granada or Malaga with good motorway networks. It is perfect for walking and cycling. If you require cycles we can arrange this, also we can arrange guided walks and activities through a local company in the area.
The coast is 1 hours drive and the Sierra Nevadas also 35 - 40mins.

Outside
Casa Bacal has a fantastic roof terrace which has panoramic views of the town and the mountains close by. It is a large terrace and is perfect to while away those long hot summer days.

Coast/Beach
There is a fantastic lake - Lake Bermejales 5 mins drive away, this is perfect for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and spending a long hot summers day keeping cool. The coast is 1 hours drive away.

Skiing
The house is perfect for the ski slopes, accessed in an hour we have some of the best runs in Europe, also possible to be at the coast in an hour soaking up the wonderful Spanish sun.

Travel
The nearest airport is Granada, being 30 mins drive away. We do recommend that you hire a car to enjoy seeing the many beautiful local towns and villages, as well as the incredible olive and almond grove covered countryside.

Distances
Our town house is ideally situated, close to Granada, the small town of Fornes, and the breathtaking Lake at Bermejales. Granada can be reached by daily bus or car in 30 minutes, Fornes and Lake are some 5 minutes drive or a pleasant cycle or walk away. there is a small traditional market on Wednesday. The coast can be reached down through amazing mountain roads down to Otivar and into Almuneca. The busy town of Alhama is a short drive away, with its many bars and places to eat.

Further details
Even though we are in rural Spain, in the heart of Andalucia. We still have many local amenities, shops, banks, restaurants, markets and supermarkets. Some locals do speak a little English, but this is not the coast and you will need a phrase book! We can arrange and give you details of most activities you may want to take part in, walking, bicycle hire, photography, creative writing, horse riding, canoeing and quad biking to name a few.

About the owner
Paul and Jane live in the town of Alhama De Granada and manage a small business renting out holiday property and being hosts to their many visitors to this spectacular area of Andalucia. They have lived in Spain for 5 years and speak Spanish. They have a great deal of experience of buying Spanish property and renovation/building work. We bought Casa Bacal 5 years ago, Paul reformed it with a small team of Spanish builders. The house is very traditionally Spanish with original beams but with all new wiring, plumbing and bathrooms.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought this property because it was a bargain! It is situated in a lovely quiet street with the best views of the natural parc in the town. We love the area because it is very traditionally Spanish and away from the hussle and bussle of the coast, yet within driving distance of some lovely uncrowded beeches.

Unique benefits of the property
The house is situated on the edge of the town within a few minutes walk of the shops and bars. There are some fantastic tapas being served in the bars and the locals love visitors. On a Sunday we benefit from a hot cooked chicken stall, so you don't even have to worry about cooking Sunday lunch!! We are right on the edge of the lovely natural parc, with lots of footpaths through woods, along streams and up mountains. There is everything you need here for a very relaxing holiday.
