The Rosa apartments are ideally situated in a quiet street behind one of Barcelona´s most vibrant and trendy squares, Plaza George Orwell, where local life unfolds on the sunny cafe terraces. Hip shops and designer boutiques, chilled out bars and numerous restaurants line the square. The tree lined Ramblas are a minute walk away where you´ll find a food lovers paradise at the Boqueria food market. In fact you can have it all with the beach and many cultural highlights such as the Picasso Museum at less than 15 minutes on foot. Rosa has been recently renovated with much attention given to keeping original features while ensuring all modern comforts have been catered for. New modern bathrooms and kitchens with a designer finish have been installed in both apartments. Rosa 1 and 2 are full of character, bringing together exposed wood, beautiful ceramics, tiled floors and carefully selected furnishings, a refreshing mix of modern contemporary and lovingly restored antique pieces.

Notes on prices
For the Easter and Christmas periods we only accept a minimum 5 night stay. For the rest of the year a minimum 3 night stay.
Changeover day
Check in is 15.00 onwards and check out 11.00, although when possible we will do our best to accommodate guests arrival times etc.
Check ins after 20.00 have a surcharge of of 25€, after 23.00 the surcharge is 40.00€ to be paid to your meet and greeter

| The open modern fitted kitchen has everything you need to prepare local delicacies, an oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle fridge-freezer, cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, pans etc. There is also a washer/dyer. The comfortable sofa in the living area also converts into a sofa bed. You will also find a wooden dining table seating 6, television with satellite TV, DVD and stereo. The separate bedroom sleeps 3 in 3 single beds. You´ll also find night stands, a desk and wooden cupboard. The tiled new bathroom features a shower, wc and wash basin. All towels and bed linen are provided. The apartment is 55 m2. | |
Notes on accommodation
The Rosa apartments are ideal for 2 small families, 1 large family or groups of friends that want to holiday together, but retain a little privacy.
Both apartments have air conditioning and heating units.
Accessibility
Rosa apartments are on the second floor with no lift.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach at Barceloneta is 10 minutes on foot or 1 metro stop away. Barceloneta kicks off a whole string of local beaches making for a pleasant stroll. Sitges, a charming little coastal town is 40 minutes away by train from Plaza Cataunya Station (which is a 10 minute walk from Rosa. The first beaches of the stunning Costa Brava are about an hours drive away north of Barcelona.
Golf
There are various golf courses north of Barcelona up the coast.
Skiing
The nearest ski station is La Molina, about 2 hours from Barcelona.
Special interest holidays
Should you tire of losing yourself in the maze of winding streets of Barcelona´s old town, of Gaudi´s modernist architecture and the numerous gothic cathedrals and churches, become bored of the beach or lazing at pavement cafes then hiking in the Montseny National Park is only an half hour drive away. Or visit Montserrat to see the famous rock formations and religious artifacts, easily reachable by train from plaza catalunya. Heading north you´ll find the stunning bays of the Costa Brava, the incredible Dalí museum at Figueres and the amazing scenery of the Pyrenees.
Travel
The nearest airport is El Prat which is around a 20 minute drive to central Barcelona and costs approximately 25€ by taxi. Alternatively El Prat has good train and bus connections to the city.

Everything you could possibly need during your stay in Barcelona can be found in the immediate area around the Rosa apartments. chic bars, bodegas cafes, restaurants, shops and clubs are all at a stones throw. On a practical note a big supermarket can be found on the Ramblas as with the fresh food market, the Boqueria, and a smaller local super is 2 minutes on foot on Calle Avinyo. It is said that this now youthful, extremely trendy street was the scene of one of Picasso´s master pieces, Les Demoiselles de Avinyo. There is also a nearby grocers just steps away from the apartment. Rosa sits between two metro stops, Licieu on the Rambla and Jaume Primero. Both are about a 5 minute walk in different directions keeping you well connected to sights further afield.
Our meet and greeter will be happy to provide you with tips, suggestions and information. She speaks fluent English and has all the inside knowledge you would expect of somebody who has lived here for 8 years!
Booking notes
In order to secure a booking for Rosa 1 or 2 we need 40 percent of the total amount paid by bank transfer or credit card. The remaining 60 percent is to paid upon check in to your meet and greeter in cash or credit card together with a fully refundable cash deposit of 150€ or the equivalent.
The cleaning fee for each Rosa apartment is 45€ and includes freshly laundered bed linen and 2 towels per guest. Extra towels are available upon request.

About the owner
This apartment is a lovingly looked after second home from home for us. We're lawyers and as we don't live in Spain we visit Barcelona when ever time allows and absolutely enjoy every moment. We chose the Borne area as it best suits us. The mix of historic charm and young bubbly atmosphere won us over from day one! Our quite back street is typically Mediterranean and offers plenty of peace after a long lunch in one of the nearby bustling restaurants. Where we live in Barcelona couldn't be further from our every day lives. Over the years it's become our favorite destination!
