It has been a wonderfully relaxing time.Just watching the world go by.We took a fast train to Madrid from Cordoba and also visited Granada and the Alhambra - which was amazing. Had a wonderful time this week especially in the evening in the patio under the green vine.Thank you for the "welcome food" you prepared for us as it was found to be most useful & finally thanks for your wonderful company & "detailed instructions" as these too were found most helpful. Owner profile

About the owner
One of the reasons for moving here was to 'take a step back in time' and to be able to enjoy our children before they fly from the nest. Someone once said to us that all children were on loan and before we knew it, they would be gone. That was a handful of years ago and we still enjoy the slower pace and the quality of life here with them and of course the beautiful weather as well as the alfresco living. We decided that we would have a 'project' while the children adjusted to the new language, culture and more importantly school life here. That was when the idea was born. As we are in rural Andalucia, it was not till recently that we had our own internet setup, albeit an old fashioned dial-up one. Now you can book direct with us at a more competitive rate.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The location of the property was very much centred around the lives of our children and their school plus the fact that we wanted to be within easy distance of an airport. The hospitality of the Andalucians are well known and the main cultural sites of Andalucia well documented. We looked at both Malaga and Granada Airports as well as all the main cultural cities. We have always loved lochs, lakes, rivers and streams so this area fitted perfectly. We are within easy reach for day trips to the main cultural sites of Andalucia, birdwatching areas and natural park lands for walking and the Costa del Sol. The area is absolutely breathtaking, even now, after living here for a few years and having visited the areas around the region, this particular area never fails to enthral Jonathan and I

Unique benefits of the property
We wanted to live in an area which was quiet but not isolated, someplace where we would not be cut off from human contact. We wanted our children to be able to mix with the local children, so when we were shown the whitewashed house in this hamlet we were delighted and charmed. We went about modernising the house. We tried to change as little as possible to keep it as the Andalucians would. We saw that there was a gap in the market for self-catering for 1 or 2 persons and also for sightseers, birdwatchers, explorers, walkers - guests who felt they did not need a pool but wanted a base for their daily outings. We also designed a simple gravelled garden set against the backdrop of the rolling olive groves for those who wanted to stay in just to relax, read a good book or catch some sun.
