This is a very spacious and comfortably furnished villa. It has large free form pool with waterfall and overhanging deck area and is totally private and secluded. It includes sat. TV, internet, air-conditioning, electric gates, laundry area, 2 huge kitchens, ample parking and inside and out dining areas. A 5 minute walk to the 5 star Almenara Hotel and 5 minute drive to the local village with shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and beach. Horse-riding and all water sports nearby, plus many golf courses in the estate. Can be easily reached from either Gibraltar (20 mins)or Malaga (60 mins) airports. This villa is recently constructed and has a lot of wood and stone plus a huge fireplace for log fires in the cooler weather. In the summer it has many patios and terraces plus a jacuzzi and sauna in the poolhouse, an aviary and fishpond, and 2 outside bars. Many sunbathing areas as well as cool shaded parts of the garden for total relaxation. A super holiday home all year round.

Other: Large formal dining room on ground floor leading to covered bar with oriental seating. Outside dining area overlooking pool. Second dining area on garden floor plus two patios with seating.

Ample towels and bedding will be provided and will be changed weekly. Maid service 3 times a week. (Three hours daily, communal areas will be cleaned only, washing up not included.)

Notes on accommodation
Bedrooms 2 and three are connecting and share a large bathroom. Bedroom 8 does not have an outside window or air-con, fan only (but is cool) and has a shower room opposite. (Private use)
Master bedroom, and bedroom 5 have balconies overlooking garden. Bedrooms 6 and 7 have sliding patio doors to garden. Pool house can sleep 2 but maximum capacity is 19 including children. The house is not suitable for very young children as pool and fish pond area are unfenced and some rooms have balconies.

Accessibility
Garden floor is accessible by wheelchair.

Outside
The outside area is spectacular with a free-form pool with waterfall, overhanging deck area shaded by a thatched roof and furnished with comfortable rattan chairs and table, a large decked area with fish pond and Moroccan tiled table seating 8 or more, outside bar, BBQ with tiled cooking area, ample sunbeds and palm thatched sunshades around the pool. Also two ground floor terraces equipped with tables, chairs and umbrellas. At the bottom of the garden there is a private wooden gate into woodland and stream which offers a lovely nature walk for about 1 km. (The only house with rear access to the green zone). Garden lighting illuminates the whole area at night and turns it magical.

Coast/Beach
Sotogrande beach 5 minutes drive. Alcaidesa beach (blue flag) 10 minutes. Tarifa 30 minutes (ideal for kite-surfing). The whole coast west and east has wonderful beaches and beach bars in the summer. Estepona is worth a visit which has a curved sandy bay with beach bars and restaurants, as is Tarifa with spectacular golden sands and dunes. Inland are the famous white villages nestled in the valleys with many signed nature walks on the way.

Golf
Almenara (27 holes) 5 minutes. La Reserva 5 minutes. Valderrama 5 minutes. Royal Sotogrande 10 minutes. La Canada 10 minutes. San Roque old and new 10 minutes.

Travel
Airports: Gibraltar 20 mins, Malaga 1 hour, Jerez 1 hour, Seville 1hr 30 mins. Train stations in Malaga and Algeciras (20 mins).

Distances
The nearest village is Pueblo Nuevo 5 mins and has shops, bars, restaurants etc. Sotogrande port with its marina, large new shopping centre, hotel and restaurants is 10 mins drive. Here you will also find kayaking, sailing, fishing and boat hire. Riding stables on the estate 5 mins drive. Marbella and Puerto Banus with their smart shops and restaurants 30 mins drive. Algerciras has a large port with ferries to Morocco and department store (El Corte Ingles) 20 mins drive.

Further details
Please note that air conditioning of bedrooms is included in cost. However if you wish the communal areas to be also air conditioned an extra charge of 200 pounds a week will be levied as electricity is very expensive in Spain and some guests have overused it. We do respectfully ask that guests turn off their bedroom a/c´s each morning.

Booking notes
On confirmation of a booking we require 30% to be transferred to our bank in Gibraltar. The balance is due 6 weeks before arrival along with a 1000 pound security deposit. This will be returned after house is checked for damage. Please note that if you move the furniture around (changing beds etc.) they must be returned to original place or you will be charged for the labour. If you cancel you will lose the 30% deposit.

About the owner
We have lived in Spain for 25 years so know the area really well and can answer any questions you may have about activities, sightseeing, shopping. My husband, Robbie, has built and designed his own homes both in the UK and here, this house being no exception and it really is his crowning achievement full of many personal touches. We have raised three children here who are now in University in England and usually spend summers there which is why we rent our house out during this period. However we are always on hand to meet and greet our guests and at the end of a telephone to help with any queries. We are sure you will have a magical stay in Karibu and will do everything to ensure it's a holiday of a lifetime.

Sotogrande is the most beautiful location on the Costa del Sol, it is very desirable and much loved my the professional class of Spaniards who choose this as their number 1 holiday destination. It not only has natural beauty including the River Guadiaro estuary, golden sand beaches and woodland, it also offers every kind of sport within 10 minutes drive, including golf, polo, horseriding, paddle tennis, water sports. It has its own marina with many restaurants and bars and local village with all amenities necessary for a comfortable stay, including 2 upmarket supermarkets.

Unique benefits of the property
The property is situated in a most tranquil and beautiful setting, it affords total privacy and the only noise you will hear is birdsong. For nature and bird lovers it is a perfect spot with many unusual birds and animals such as the colourful but noisy Jay, mongooses and salamanders. There is a private gate at the rear of the garden that leads straight out to a little stream and a woodland walk. However you are only 5 minutes drive away from all the amenities you could wish for, including a vibrant nightlife at the Port for the younger guests. Taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced so no worry about drinking and driving - although most of our guests prefer to spend the long summer evening by the pool having a barbecue or sitting up at the outside bar near the hot tub.
