This light, airy spacious and well appointed apartment is situated in a small fishing village on the Costa Brava with a beautiful sandy beach and coastal paths to other bays. Nearest town is Palafrugell with bars, restaurants and local market but it is only 35 mins from the medieval city of Girona and the stunning coastline of the Costa Brava is on your doorstep. Horse riding, golf, scuba diving and skiing are all accessible for great days out and there is local boat hire and boat trips from Tamariu and Llafranc. Botanical gardens in Calella are 10 minutes drive as are the ruins of Ullastret. Dali's museums are 10 and 40 minutes drive away and the chique resort of Platja D'aro with its water park, offering 5 miles of promenade and restaurants is 20 minutes drive. Tamariu is equidistant from Barcelona and the French border and the Pyrenees if you want to venture further (1.5 hours drive).

Accessibility
There is a lift accessible from the parking bay with only one step and it goes directly to the front door of the apartment.
Outside
The landscaped gardens surround the apartment block and manicured lawn is around the pool on several levels offering privacy. The pool has a large shallow end and showers at the poolside.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is 10 minute walk from Tamariu beach, 2 minutes in the car and between 5 and 20 minutes away by car to secluded coves of Llafranc and Calella, the chic, year round resort of Platja D'Aro and the more well known Tossa del Mar is 45 minutes away on the Costa Brava scenic drive.
Golf
A perfect base for a long weekend golf break or full blown golf tour. 15 mins from Emporda golf centre with two championship courses, one woodland and 1 links. 20 mins from Old Pals course, the oldest course on the Costa Brava, very reminiscent of a tight, thinking person's Scottish course with wooded fairways. 40 mins from both Catalunya Open and Mas Nou/Platja D'Aro, both very challenging championship courses. There are numerous other less challenging, equally enjoyable courses (such as Serres de Pals) within 45 mins. At all courses clubs and buggies are available for hire should you fancy an odd round during your stay. Booking tee times prior to travel recommended.
Skiing
2 hours drive to the nearest ski resorts in the Pyrenees, if you wanted to go for the day during your holiday in the winter.
Special interest holidays
This is a great base for those who like walking due to the myriad of coastal paths in the area. Scuba diving and boat hire are available at both Tamariu and Llafranc, and the Medes Islands 30mins further north are a protected marine park with some of the best diving in the Med. If archeology is your thing the ruined Roman city of Empuria Brava is 35 mins drive away, and the pre-Roman Iberian settlement of Ullastret is only 20mins away. Numerous walled villages such as Pals and Peratellada and Begur on the coast add to the history. The stunning walled Roman city of Girona is only 40mins away. If you are a wine buff you are in the heart of the Penedes and Torres wine growing regions with numerous small vineyards offering tasting and tours all within 45 mins of the apartment.
Travel
The apartment is only 35 mins drive from Girona airport, primarily serviced by Ryanair, and 1hr 30 mins from Barcelona airport serviced by British Airways and Easyjet. Perpignan is also an option being 2hrs away. Car hire is essential to get the most from this apartment. Driving directions available on request.

The apartment is 500m from the centre of Tamariu, which has a small supermarket which is open throughout the year, and a cash-point. The Hotel Tamariu on the beach has broadband access. In season there is also a bakery. There are numerous restaurants of all types. Palafrugell is the nearest town some 10 mins away, with large supermarkets, banks, post office, town square and superb open air fruit, veg, meat and fish markets every morning except Mondays from 8.30 til noon. On Sundays there is also a large market selling anything you can think of and more!
