The apartment is 2nd floor in block 3 of marina de la duquesa complex. The complex is secure with gated access and 24hr security. The is an access gate which leads directly to the beach where you will find a local beach bar. As you exit the complex you literally walk 2 minutes and you will find yourself in the port which has many bars and restaurants. The apartment has been beautifully furnished and is fully equipped. There is air-conditioning / heating, a secure private parking space and has a fully fitted kitchen. We have installed Broadband internet with wifi to give our guests free internet and there is a phone installed with access to local numbers or for relatives to phone from home. The complex has 4 swimming pools and paddle tennis courts, we have paddle tennis rackets for those wishing to play, there is also a fitness room and a sauna on site. The area is a haven for golf enthusiasts and we can hire out golf clubs for those wishing to play. Overall a great holiday location.

Bedrooms: The master bedroom has a dressing area, we have provided a hairdryer and a safe. There are fitted wardrobes in both bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The twin room has two single beds, fitted wardrobes and drawers. Linen included.
Bathrooms: The en-suite bathroom has a bath with a shower above it. There is also a separate walk in shower room with toilet in the hallway. We provide bath and hand towels for all guests staying.
Kitchen: The kitchen has been upgraded from the standard kitchens in the complex. There is hob, oven, extractor fan, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee percolator, plenty of cooking utensils, plastic cups/plates for the little ones.
Utility Room: The utility room houses the washing machine, iron and ironing board.
Living Rooms: The living room has leather sofas, a coffee table, unit with plenty of reading books, phone and wifi connection, TV unit - SKY free to view channels, DVD player and music system. Dining table which seats 4. Patio doors lead to the terrace.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are included in the price with the exception of beach towels. Guests staying for 2 weeks will have additional linen and towels. The apart is cleaned for arrival & utility costs are included. Mid-stay cleaning can be arranged on request.

 

Notes on accommodation
We can hire out cots and highchairs on request. We can also hire out golf clubs and pre-book golf courses in the area. We can arrange airport transfers or assist with car hire arrangements. For those travelling late at night or over a weekend we can do a basic shop on your behalf and have everything in the apartment for your arrival. We meet all our guests in person, show you around the apartment and hand over the keys, we live local so we are to hand in case of any problems which could arise.

Accessibility
The apartment has not been altered or specially constructed for wheelchair users but we have had families with wheelchair users stay in this complex. One of the pools has been reconstructed so now has steps leading into the pool. We can also hire out walkers at minimal cost for those needed one to get around the apartment. Outside
There is a terrace which has unrestricted sea views. There are two loungers and a table to seat 4 on the terrace so you can dine alfresco. The terrace is covered and has a south-east aspect. As well as sea views the terrace also overlooks one of the four pools on the complex.

Coast/Beach
There is a gate from the complex which literally leads onto the beach promenade. You simply can't get closer to the beach so this complex is ideal if you like a mix of pools and beach. There are numerous beach bars within easy reach with a variety of dishes to sample. The beaches in the area are blue flag.

Golf
Amazingly, there are 60 golf courses within one hour's drive of Duquesa and 5 courses within just a 5 minute drive. We can help you decide whether to pay over €200 at the Ryder Cup and Volvo Golf Masters course at Valderrama or just €30 for nine holes, buggy and cooked breakfast at Estepona. Whatever your level of interest in golf, being so close to such magnificent courses with such sensational views at such competitive prices in near perfect golfing weather, you really shouldn't miss out. In fact, one local course offers unlimited golf for a week at €160 - a good enough reason to spend a week with us we think! We can hire out golf clubs at very reasonable rates - from 3 euros per day.

Travel
The nearest airports are Gibraltar and Malaga, Gibraltar is 35 mins drive and Malaga is 55 mins however sometimes it is worth checking flights from Jerez as they can do some good deals. Jerez is approx 90 mins from Duquesa. We can assist with car hire or airport transfer from all these airports.

Distances
With Duquesa on your doorstep and Sabinillas only a 10 min stroll - 2 mins by car you have all you need for restaurants, bars and supermarkets. Estepona town is only 10 mins by car and worth an explore. There are many areas to visit within an hours drive, including safari parks, water parks, historical and cultural places, shopping at Marbella is only 40 mins and Gibraltar is only 35 mins by car. Duquesa is a good base to explore what Andalucia has to offer.

Further details
If you don´t want to hire a car there is a local company who provide bus trips to various cities like Granada, Rhonda, Seville and Gibraltar and we can help you book these trips and get you discounted prices. In the apartment there is a welcome book giving advice on places to visit and good restaurants to visit.

Booking notes
Please email us for availability. We will require a deposit to secure the booking and full balance needs to be paid at least three weeks prior to your holiday. We have a paypal account so can take credit and debit cards via this method. We want you to have a great holiday in our apartment so please email us with any questions you may have.

About the owner
I live in Spain, in Casares Costa with my husband and 2 sons ages 6 and 7. We moved from England in 1999 and first lived in Gibraltar for a few years. When I fell pregnant with our second child we decided to move into Spain. We love the area and it really feels like home to us. Our children attend the local Spanish school and we are learning the language - we have to keep up with the children´s homework! We loved the area having first come across this quaint marina when the family came over for our wedding in Gibraltar. Several years later we ended up living near here and decided to invest in an apartment in Marina de la Duquesa.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
A few years ago we decided to invest in an apartment in Puerto de la Duquesa as we thought it was an idyllic spot and the complex was in a fantastic location. Literally everything you need is on the doorstep, pools, beach, bars and restaurants so for those not wanting to drive on holiday we thought it perfect. We bought the apartment in 2005 and have had some fantastic comments back. We take pride in the apartment and as we live local we deal with the management of it ourselves. We have tried to give it a home from home feel as we like our guests to be able to relax and be comfortable. We have tried to think of everything they may need to enjoy a Spanish vacation.

Unique benefits of the property
One of the main benefits of the property is the location. We have also tried to keep it child friendly, modern yet practical. We fitted wifi this year (2009) as we realized that more and more people worked whilst on holiday or simply needed to keep up with emails. The views from the apartment terrace are fantastic and even though we live here when I relax on the terrace I too feel like I am on holiday.
