Notes on accommodation
The apartment is fully equipped with hot and cold air-conditioning and also has an electric log effect fire. Where the apartment is situated on the complex makes easy access to the 2 communal pools, gardens and tennis court. The terrace area is south facing so you have the pleasure of the sun on it during the summer. Suitable for all families, friends and golfers. 2 bed chairs are supplied for the beach as well as umbrella, cool box and picnic basket and blanket. Tea, coffee and milk will be supplied on arrival so don't worry on late arrival. Smoking is allowed only on the outside terrace area and not in the apartment itself ashtrays are supplied. A guide manual for all appliances is on hand in the apartment. A bottle of bubbly will be in the fridge ready for your arrival.
Accessibility
As the apartment is ground/1st floor it is accessible to wheelchairs, as you can enter from the rear door which is ground floor or come up from the garage by lift. A car would be suitable for people with mobility problems. Ideal for pushchairs and small children.
Outside
There is 1 communal plunge pool and 1 large communal pool with a decorative bridge going over it, a wc and baby changing room is situated by the pool area so no more walking back to apartments. There are 3 outside showers next to the pools. The gardens are well kept and there is a tennis court on the site. A communal terrace area is situated by the pool as well.
On the terrace area of the apartment is a bbq, sunloungers, a dining table and chairs for that al fresco dining. A roof terrace is on the top of the apartment building with spectacular views of the golf course.
Coast/Beach
The beaches and port are only a 10 mins walk away or a few mins in a car. The beaches of Duquesa lay both sides of the port, which are safe as they slope gently in to sea. There are plenty of beach bars on either side.
A short and lovely walk along the promenade takes you into the neighbouring spanish village of Sabinillas with great beaches and wonderful reaturants & bars.
There plenty of parking down by the port and this is free parking 24 hrs.
A taxi firm is situated at the port as well.
Golf
La Duquesa Golf Course & Country Club - this is a very popular golf course (5 mins).
Estepona Golf Club - this course has short narrow fairways with extremely dangerous roughs (15 mins).
Sotagrande Golf Course - this is one of the top 10 courses in Europe.
Alcaidesa Links golf course - considered to be the first authentic 'link' type course in Spain.
Alhaurin Golf & Country Club - this is a rugged terrain & breathtaking course to play a challenging game with its fairways, bunkers and lakes (30 mins).
Valderrama Golf Club - this is the most famous golf course of them all in Europe its designed for players with a reasonable hight level of play (20 mins).

Travel
There are 3 airports you can use.
Gibraltar Airport, 25 mins drive (taxi approx 35 to 40 euros).
Malaga Airport 50/60 mins drive (taxi approx 80 to 90 euros).
Jerez Airport 80 mins drive (taxi approx 120 euros).
A car is not essential but if you wish to see the sites one is recommended.
There is good public transport and taxi service available into Estepona, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Gibraltar etc.

Sabinillas 5 mins, Estepona 15 mins, Puerto Banus 25 mins, Marbella 35 mins.
Nearest towns of Duquesa by car going west:
Sotogrande 15 mins, La Linea 20 mins, Gibraltar 25 mins.
Further details
There are bars, restaurants and a shop for essentials (tea coffee milk etc) within 5 mins walk from the complex this is known as the courtyard, a further 5 min walk will take you in to Duquesa port where you will find a large selection of bars, resturants with a variety of dishes to choose from (Italian, Chinese, Indian, Spanish, English and Mexican). A small supermarket, taxi rank, bank, tourist information for local activities and places of interest to go to. A 10 min walk along the promenade will take you into Sabinillas where there are larger supermarkets, chemist, Parks, bars and more restaurants etc.
Booking notes
A holding deposit of £150 is taken upon booking with the remainder to be paid 6 weeks prior to your departure. Always enquire about a booking as cancellations do happen.
If large parties wish to book or several families at any one time please feel free to call as there are more than 1 of us with apartments.
Guest comments
We have had such a lovely holiday - Duquesa was so much nicer than the usual tourist areas and we had a lazy week with the family making use of the pool and tennis court and playing cards on the patio. The apartment was really great and comfortable and we made use of most of the kitchen equipment. It was spacious enough for the six of us and the large fridge was a boon especially for the beers for the boys! we went to Sabinillas to a lovely Argentinian restaurant. I will certainly recommend the apartment to friends as I know they would enjoy the setting. Joe and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversry in beautiful surroundings,beautiful weather and with our family - a truly memorable holiday.
