La Cartujita was built in a rustic Castilian style, situated on the upper terrace behind the main house with a fantastic view of the sea, next to the magnificent Mount Montgo rising behind the town of Denia. It's at the far end of Las Rotas, in a quiet area up on a hill, in a private road. This cottage is ideal for a couple looking for a peaceful and quiet place to relax in. La Cartujita has just been renovated and tastefully furnished to a very high standard. The main feature is the Moorish style wood carved ceiling in the bedroom and a heart-shaped swimming pool at the lower terrace. It's just a 10 minute walk to the rocky coast of Las Rotas, ideal for snorkeling. The port of Denia is 10 min drive away and has miles of sandy beaches, a marina, restaurants, shops and outdoor markets. One can go to Javea by boat or drive there in 20 minutes through the beautiful winding mountain road with views of Mount Montgo, Denia harbour and the old town of Javea.

Changeover day
Preferably Saturday in high season, flexible in low season. The villa will be ready after 4pm. We need you to confirm the approximate time of arrival. Departure no later than 10.30am.

Bedrooms: A extra length double bed, which can be made up as two single beds as required. Built in wardrobes, bedside cabinets, sideboards, chair, air-conditioning and internet connection.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom with walk in shower, toilet,wash basin, electic towel rail and shaver point.
Kitchen: Open plan kitchen fully equipped with gas cooker, microwave combined oven, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment and a Castilian cupboard.
Utility Room: Washing machine, iron & iron board, drying rack, vacuum cleaner and cleaning equipment.
Living Rooms: A two seater sofa, a coffee table, small dining table and 2 chairs. Satellite TV channels (not UK), DVD player, radio and CD player with a selection of films and music CDs. Door to balcony with chairs and table. Ceiling fan.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels, tea towels and bed linen are included and changed weekly. Pool and beach towels are not included. The property is fully cleaned prior to arrival with a complimentary welcome grocery pack.

Notes on accommodation
The cottage can only accommodate 2 adults only without any children. There is also a no smoking policy inside the house. Air-conditioning (warm and cold) in the bedroom. There are extra blankets and pillows provided.

Accessibility
Due to a number of steps up the terrace, it is not suitable for those with walking difficulties and heart problem. We are glad to help you with the luggage.

Outside
There is a balcony off the living room with a table and two chairs, with views across the coast line and the sea beyond. There are many sitting areas on different levels ideal for watching the sunset. There are a few steps going down to the swimming pool, and for safety reason please wear non snip footwear. There are sunbeds on the terrace and the pool is 5x5 metres and 1.10 metres deep, ideal for cooling down. The owners might sometimes be using the pool. There is always space for parking the car in front of the house.

Coast/Beach
By Car only: Denia 10/15 minutes. Els Poblets 15/20 minutes. Oliva 25/35 minutes. Gandia 35/40 minutes.

Golf
There are two championship golf courses near by. La Sella is about 20 minutes drive and Oliva Nova is about 30 minutes.

Travel
Nearest airports are Valencia and Alicante. Allow approx. one and a half hours via the coastal motorway AP-7. You can look at our web site for how to find us. There are trains from Alicante but they take 3 hours. There are ferries to the Balearic Islands from Denia all the year round.

Distances
Javea 7 km, Calpe 35km, Benidorm 47km. Driving into the mountainous interior up the Jalon Velly, Obra, Parcent, Campell, Tarbena, Bernia and Guadalest takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Further details
Some of the best restaurants in the area are in Denia, including one with two Michelin stars. You can choose sea food, tapas or Spanish regional cooking. Paella is the regional rice dish, usually cooked with meat or sea food and is served at lunch time. You can also find other cuisines from Germany, England, France, Italy, Holland, China, India etc. Some supermarkets also sell Chinese, English and German food. There is a Barclay's Bank in the center of town.

Booking notes
A deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable 4 weeks prior to your arrival by money transfer or cash on arrival, refundable if you cancel 6 weeks before your date of arrival. 10% discount for a 3 to 4 weeks stay. Minimum stay 1 week. Rates for a longer stay are negotiable.

Jorgen and Anthony had over twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry. First an awarding winning restaurant in London, than a country house hotel near Sherbone Dorset. We moved to Spain in 2006 and have found a beautiful house in Les Rotes. on a hillside with a separate building in the garden. We renovated this cottage with all modern amenities while retaining the original style. We will always be available during your stay, to deal with any problems and give advice on excursions and restaurants. Should you want to move to this part of Spain, we can give you advice and help you with the language.
