The Hideaway is for those that wish to get away from it all, to unwind and chill out. It is a self-contained Casita on two floors attached to our own permanent residence in Spain. There is a central courtyard to the front where you enter the open plan kitchen/living/dining area through the original antique door. Also on the ground floor is the bathroom/wetroom. Stairs take you to a twin bedroom with a small balcony but enormous views. There is a covered roof terrace leading off the bedroom for your alfresco eating, a sun-terrace with loungers and steps down to the 10m pool.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in sterling, however, we will accept euros at the exchange rate at the time of booking. Payment may be made either direct to our UK bank, or our Spanish bank. We also accept payment by PayPal however their commission will be charged on top.

Changeover day
We are flexible on changeover days. Arrivals not before 3pm and departure by 10am. please, although if this does cause problems then please speak to us.

Bedrooms: One bedroom with twin beds, bedside cabinet, chest of drawers and curtained wardrobe area and oodles of reading matter.
Bathrooms: The bathroom is fully tiled with a large shower, wash-hand basin and WC.
Kitchen: The kitchen has an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, toaster and a comprehensive range of cooking equipment.
Utility Room: The apartment does not have a utility room but an iron, ironing board and the use of the washing machine is available on request.
Living Rooms: The living/dining room has two comfortable armchairs with a dining room table and chairs and antique dresser, satellite TV with DVD/CD player, plus more books and free wi-fi.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
All towels, linen and swimming pool towels are provided and changed once a week. We also provide a very comprehensive welcome pack and a very warm welcome. The apartment is cleaned throughout at every changeover.

Notes on accommodation
The Casita is attached to the main house which is our permanent residence. The location is quiet and private with a few distant neighbours and our cat who is extremely friendly.

Accessibility
Because of its hillside location and numerous steps, this accommodation is unsuitable for anyone who has mobility problems or is a wheelchair user.

Outside
The Casita has its own covered and sun terraces with table and chairs, a swing and sun loungers, and of course, those amazing views. There are steps leading down to the shared (only with the owners) swimming pool which is 10x4m and from 1m to 1.4m in depth (safe for non swimmers).

Coast/Beach
The coast and its many beaches is less than an hour's drive away.

Golf
The nearest 18 hole golf course is at Antequera which is about 40 minutes drive away.

Skiing
The Sierra Navada ski slopes near Granada are about an hour and half drive away. Well worth a visit at any time. Lots of snow in the winter, with full ski equipment hire, an alpine village and ice-skating rink, and beautiful walks and stunning views in the summer.

Special interest holidays
A haven for bird-watchers, painters and walkers. Lots to explore.

Travel
The nearest airport to the property is Granada, approximately 45 minutes drive away. Malaga airport is one hour's drive. Car hire is essential. However, if you do not wish to drive inexpensive taxi and tour drives are available.

Distances
The nearest villages with bars and shops are both 3km away - a pleasant walk. Loja is 25 minutes drive and Iznajar 15 minutes. The apartment is ideally situated for easy access to the historic Alhambra palace in Granada, the magnificent Mesquita in Cordoba, the sun-kissed beaches of the Costa del Sol and the colourful flamboyance of Sevilla. With lots of other places of interest in-between.

Further details
The nearest villages of Fuente del Conde and Ventoros de Balerma both have supermarkets and bars. The historic pueblo blanco Iznajar is perched on the edge of Lake Iznajar, surrounded by hills and olive groves. A fascinating place to explore with its ancient castle and churches, white-washed houses and steep narrow streets. There are numerous shops, a post office, bank, health-centre and many excellent local bars/restaurants. Loja and Rute (both 25 minutes drive) are much larger towns catering for all needs. Both are historic centres in their own right. This is hilly country, but if you're up to it, the walks are fantastic with the freedom to wander wherever you wish - no fenced off fields here! Plenty of "off roading", and horse riding is available nearby.

Booking notes
We require a 25% deposit to secure a booking and the remainder to be paid 8 weeks before commencement of the holiday.

My husband and I have lived in Spain since 2001, after early retirement as a Personal Assistant and Creative Director of a design group. We take pride in our properties and are responsive to any of our renters needs. Since we are local, we deal with our guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. Both our properties are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home!
