Casa del Sol is a fantastic base to explore this most beautiful area of Spain - not just the numerous sandy beaches, but also the stunning mountain scenery and quaint Spanish villages which are just a few minutes drive from the apartment. There are 38 golf courses within an hour's drive, 2 adjacent to the site, plus many great days out. All amenities are close by, with a choice of shopping locations and many restaurants nearby serving the most delicious Spanish fare!

Notes on accommodation
With professional interior design incorporating crisp white cotton linen, big fluffy towels and meticulous attention to detail, the apartment is a wonderful place to stay in any season.
The apartment is fully air conditioned with heating for cosy out of season breaks.
Fully equipped for babies and children including a travel cot, toddler bedguard, high chair, cold water/microwave steriliser, children's cutlery and plastic plates, cups, etc plus a wide selection of children's games and DVD's.
Accommodation can be arranged to be flexible for families, couples or golfers by using the double sofabed and / or the z-bed.

Accessibility
Access to the apartment is good for people with mobility problems as there is a lift from the secure underground car park and from ground level to right outside the apartment door. The apartment is on one level, with a sliding balcony doors and a step up to the lower balcony from the apartment.
The pool is accessible from the apartment by wheel chair and there is a disabled lift in the pool (not tested).

Outside
Balcony doors lead from the living room to the lower balcony with dining furniture. There are spiral stairs leading from the lower balcony to the large roof top terrace, which spans the entire surface of the apartment and has dining furniture, sun loungers and a stone BBQ.
The secure underground parking has a large private storage room adjacent to the allocated parking space, which is ideal for golf clubs and beach toys.
There is a shared pool adjacent to the apartment, which can be seen from the balcony and roof terrace. There is also a small toddler pool which is ideal for babies and toddlers. Around the pool there are sun loungers and a small grass area. Adjacent to the pool is a toilet and changing room (cleaned daily).

Coast/Beach
The apartment is 0.5km from the nearest beach (approx. 2 minutes by car or approx. 15 minutes walk) and at this beach there is a beach bar / restaurant. There are many more beaches are along the coast with particular favourites being Duquesa (approx. 5 minutes by car) and Estepona (approx. 10 minutes by car). Most beaches have showers, wc's and bars / restaurants.

Golf
Within 2 minutes of the apartment are 2 golf courses including the new Finca Cortesin with Jack Nicklaus Golf Academy (home to part of the Volvo Masters Tournament); 17 courses are within 30 minutes drive, including San Roque and Valderrama; a further 19 courses are within one hour's drive.

Travel
Nearest airports are Gibraltar (approx. 40 minutes drive), Malaga (approx. 50 minutes drive) and Jerez (approx. 90 minutes drive).
A hire car is recommended to make best use of the apartments location, although the site is well served by local buses (15 minutes walk to nearest bus stop) and taxis.

Distances
Within approx. 30 minutes drive are buzzing resorts like Marbella and the exclusive ports of Puerto Banus and Sotogrande. Historic Malaga, the birthplace of Picasso, is approx. 50 minutes drive away.
The city of Seville is approx. 2 hours's drive away and Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera (the home of sherry and Spanish brandy) and Granada are achievable in a day. You can ski in the Sierra Nevada (Granada region) in the winter.
Ronda, set high in the mountains, is approx. 90 minutes drive away.

Further details
The Casares region of Andalucia, between Estepona and Manilva, is an excellent base for a holiday in this diverse region. Significant investment in new properties and the infrastructure in the area ensure that it is a relatively new holiday destination and unlike the older and more traditional holiday resorts it is not particularly built up.

The nearest garage with a small shop is just a few minutes away and sells all essentials. The nearest supermarket is less than 1km away, with several further choices within 10 minutes drive. There are several restaurants just a few minutes drive away, with further choice in the towns such as Sabanillas, Duquesa (marina) and Estepona (marina). Benahavis (30 minutes drive) is known for it's great nightlife and gastronomic delights!

The nearest towns are Sabinillas (approx. 3 minutes by car), Duquesa (approx. 5 minutes by car) and Estepona (approx. 10 minutes by car). All of these provide a variety of shops and boutiques as well as beaches, children's play areas, numerous restaurants and cafes. Both Duquesa and Estepona have beautiful marinas.

Within an hour's drive from the apartment are attractions aimed at families with younger children such as Monte Selwo Aventura safari park, Torremolinos zoo, Tivoli World Theme Park and various aquaria.

Gibraltar, approx. 40 minutes drive away, is well worth a visit. As well as duty free shopping a trip to the Upper Rock to see St Michael's Cave, the apes and the siege tunnels is well worth it. the views from the Upper Rock are amazing. (don't forget passports and UK money!)

There are many traditional Spanish white villages (pueblo blanco), including Casares village, (just 10 minutes by car from the apartment); and then further into the mountains are Gaucin and Ronda, with its infamous gorge, huge bullring and quaint cobbled streets in the old town.

We have lots of information for day trips and recommended restaurants, plus local books and guides in the apartment.

Final balance payable eight weeks before arrival.
A £100 refundable damage deposit is payable (with final balance) for all bookings, which will be refunded to you following satisfactory inspection of the apartment.
