Notes on accommodation
The eucalyptus and pine log cabin provides extra accommodation for guests renting out the cottage. It comprises:
1 fully furnished double room with twin beds. Electric lighting and plugs. Outside washbasin with running water.
Secluded terrace with table, chairs and views down the valley. Shared use of cottage kitchen and bathroom facilities (including additional solar powered shower).
A washing machine is available in the farmhouse.

Coast/Beach
Ryanair flies direct to Granada from London Stansted, Liverpool and East Midlands (Nottingham). Granada is a 45-minute drive from the nearest town, Orgiva. Meanwhile, many airlines run direct routes to Malaga and Almeria, both a scenic and uncongested 2-hour drive from Orgiva. At all airports hire cars can be arranged for as little as £90 per week.

Further details
Cortijo Cañaveral is situated on a spectacularly beautiful mountainside, secluded and peacefully set amongst orange and olive groves. The last 10 min drive here is on rough track high above the Guadalfeo River in the same valley with breathtaking views as described in the book ‘Driving Over Lemons’. In spite of its remote tranquil location, Cortijo Cañavaral is merely 5 miles, 25 min by car, from the local town of Orgiva with its bustling Thursday market, numerous banks, ATM, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The city of Granada, with its famous Alhambra palace, 1 hours drive away from Orgiva, is suitable for a days outing, as are the beaches of the Costa Tropical and the white villages on the higher slopes. Please note that sections of the rough track on the way to the house can become particularly bumpy after heavy rain, particularly in the wetter (comparatively) autumn and spring months. Some guests have benefitted from 4 x 4 hire cars.

Booking notes
The owners live permanently on site and are available for advice and help throughout your stay. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total price is required with booking, with the full balance due a month before arrival.
