Notes on accommodation
This accommodation is self-catering. The accommodation is not suitable for toddlers or very young children, nor for people with mobility problems. Need to keep in touch? Wi Fi available 24 hrs. Set in lush sub-tropical gardens with a luxury size pool, the accommodation is completely private. The Kitchen is well equipped, suitable for long Winter lets as well as Summer Holidays. The spacious Sitting Room has a log burning stove for the cooler days, Sky TV, DVD player, CD player and lots of books.
Outside
The gardens are lush, the plants and flowers perfumed and sub-tropical. The luxury pool is 10x4 metres with steps into the two shallow ends. There are cushioned sun loungers, outside tables and chairs for alfresco dining, sunny areas and shady corners for relaxing, reading or catching the sun.
The Pool is completely private.
Coast/Beach
There are many secluded coves as well as popular beaches to be found along this Tropical coast of Granada. The local beaches, Playa Granada & Playa Poniente are a ten minute drive from Cortijo Azahar. Salobreña, with it's beach chiringuitos, is very popular in high summer with Spanish as well as European visitors.
Golf
The nearest Golf course, Los Mariscos, is situated on the sea front approximately a 15 min drive away. This has an excellent restaurant and a large patio overlooking the beach a perfect place to spend a summer evening.
Travel
Cortijo Azahar is located on the edge of Motril (east), on the south coast of Granada Province(the Costa Tropical - as yet unspoilt by mass tourism) midway between Malaga and Almeria and approximately a 90 minute drive from each airport. Granada airport is a 60 min scenic drive due north of Motril through some stunningly lovely countryside and sierra views.
A car is essential to enjoy your stay at Cortijo Azahar as we are not on the bus route. Taxis are available if necessary.
Distances
It is just over 2 kilometres by car to the town of Motril, a thriving market town with many restaurants, shops of every sort, a large swimming pool, parks, gardens, churches, a huge new hypermarket, indoor meat, fruit & veg market,a hospital, everything you are likely to need, in fact.
Approximately 5 kms by car takes you down to the bustling Port of Motril.

The Granada region of Andalucia is still a relatively undiscovered area of Spain, and is steeped in history, yet is still able to retain its very traditional Spanish roots. Offering the rare combinations of the rugged mountains dropping into the warm Mediterranean seas of the Costa Tropical, pretty & friendly coastal fishing villages, quiet beaches (26 in total), secluded coves, and the contrasting historic white Alpujarras villages nestled to the North in the stunning mountains, all with the back drop of the mighty Sierra Nevada mountains and ski resort. There must be few places in the world where you can ski 3000m above sea level in the morning, and return to sea level and sunbathe or swim in the afternoon.

A 30% deposit secures a booking. Balance is due 6 weeks prior to holiday.
Winter and early Spring prices are based on 2 people occupancy. There is no charge for 1 small Pet Dog. Bring 2 small dogs @ 25 euros per week.
1 large dog is 25 euros per week.
