Casa de Piedra is a lovingly-restored single-storey, 3-bedroom country-style villa. Constructed using traditional materials the house retains many original features that combine effortlessly with the more modern benefits of central heating and air-conditioning. Situated in a semi-rural location, just on the edge of Gaucin village and surrounded by orange and olive groves, the house provides a wonderful base from which to explore the Serrania de Ronda or to simply soak up the ambiance of the local area. Sit in the shade, in the lawned and terraced garden, and admire the mountain views that characterize the Serrania. Alternatively, take a dip in the private pool or stroll up to Gaucin and marvel at the stunning views down to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of Morocco beyond.

Notes on accommodation
The house has modern central heating and a fireplace for out-of-season lets and air-conditioning for the Summer months. Cots and high-chairs can be provided, if requested. Although the house is beautifully situated in a semi-rural location, the garden is fully enclosed and as such is suitable for children - please note that, in common with many Spanish villas, the pool is not fenced.

Outside
The secluded swimming pool is situated in the enclosed garden and is for the sole use of the guests at Casa de Piedra. The pool measures 8.5m x 4m with a depth of 1.2m-1.9m. Within the garden area there is a purpose-built barbecue area, a table with parasol and ample sunbeds. To the front of the house is a large terrace with a dining table. For more energetic visitors, two mountain bikes are available for exploring the local area and riding lessons or excursions can be arranged.
Coast/Beach
Good beaches may be found on the coast just a 20 minute drive away.
Golf
Excellent golf courses may be found on the coast e.g. at Duquesa, Estepona, Casares. The nearest are a 20 mins drive away.
Travel
Gibraltar 1 hour - flights from Luton, Gatwick. Malaga 1.5 hours. Jerez 2.5 hours. Seville 2.5 hours. Granada 2.5 hours. Car hire - recommended but not essential. We are able to arrange competitive, reliable car hire that will avoid the severe queuing that can be experienced with some of the more well-known companies; please ask for further details.
Distances
Gaucin 5 minutes, Ronda 45 mins. Marbella 45 mins. Jerez, Granada and Seville 2.5 - 3 hours.
Further details
Nearby Gaucin has many small shops and 3 'supermarkets'. There is a mobile fresh fish service as well as an excellent, well-stocked shop selling organic produce and a delicatessen. The village has a good selection of tapas bars and there are regular live flamenco performances. Beauty treatments and a range of alternative therapies can be arranged locally. Gaucin is surrounded by stunning scenery and the area is highly recommended for those interested in bird watching, walking or mountain biking.
