These lovely apartments, Carolina´s upstairs and Carolina´s Studio, are situated at the top end of the village, alongside the country road which winds up to Capileira, the last village of the Poqueira valley and beyond towards the Sierra Nevada National Park. So occasional traffic will pass by, but it´s a very advantageous location too, shops, bars and restaurants are all close to hand. Both apartments are self contained, very comfortable, fully equiped and nicely furnished and decorated to a high standard. From the south facing terraces, there are spectacular views over the ancient roof tops of the village, across the splendid mountain scenery towards the Mediterranean Sea in the far distance. What a view! There are plenty of activities like horse riding, mountain biking, cañoning, climbing, paragliding, guided hiking tours to the high mountains, a daytrip to Granada or the coast (1 hour 15 minutes ).

Accommodation

Carolina´s Upstairs (sleeps 4)

Sleeps 2/4 in 2 bedrooms.
On the first floor. Up a short flight of stairs one enters in the open plan living room with a big kitchen and dining area. There is a cosy corner around the open fireplace. Small terrace with table and chairs. One big master bedroom with double bed and a sitting area with the same spectacular view as from the terrace. Another bedroom with twin beds and a nicely tiled bathroom.

Carolina´s Studio (sleeps 2)

Sleeps 2. On ground floor.
(50m) Small entrance hall with cupboards. Archway to open plan living-bedroom with a small, but fully equipped kitchen with dining area (fridge, 4 electric rings, oven) opening up to a big terrace with garden furniture and sunbeds.
Comfortable sofa around the open fireplace and a cosy corner with a double bed. There is a stairway down to a beautifully tiled bathroom.
Cental heating, washing machine, TV, iron and board, all linen provided.

Notes on accommodation
Both flats are heated by night storage heaters and there are also fireplaces in both. Both have satellite TV, washing machines, iron and board. The studio flat has a bigger terrace and so there are two sunloungers and sun umbrella. The upstairs has garden furniture but is not large enough to allow sunlongers as well.

South facing terraces with spectacular views.

Coast/Beach
It takes about 1 hour to drive to Motril on the coast.

Travel
Nearest main airport is Malaga, about 2.5 hours drive away. Flights have also just started from Uk into Granada.
A car is recommended, although a daily bus does connect Bubion with Granada.

Distances
The two other Moorish villages in the gorge are both 2 km´s away and easy to walk to.
Orgiva, a larger town, is approx. 15km´s down the mountain.
To visit Granada and the Alhambra Palace takes about 1hour 15 mins by car.

Further details
Local shops, supermarkets and cafes are all close by the flats and from Bubion, walks into the Sierra are signposted. Also available from the village are horseriding, paragliding and mountain biking.
