The villa is situated in the peaceful village of Fortia. It is an excellent base from which you can explore the surrounding area. The nearest beach is in Empuriabrava 10 minutes drive. Empuriabrava also boasts many shops, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and pockets. The villa has four double bedrooms, the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. There are two further bathrooms for the use of guests one upstairs the other on the ground floor. Large kitchen with dining area and all the appliances. Spacious lounge with comfy leather sofas and 40 inch TV. Sky free to view channels. WiFi internet access for those who need to bring their laptops. The villa has air-conditioning to upstairs bedrooms and lounge.The villa has a great outdoor area with a large pool, sun terrace and BBQ. Outdoor dining area with sun awning and pool loungers. Fully enclosed and gated garden area makes it safe for families with young children.

Changeover day
During peak season changeover day is strictly Saturday. Other dates can be negotiated. Arrival time 4pm. Departure time 10am.

Notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning to all three bedrooms upstairs and the lounge. Fully enclosed garden with lockable gates makes the villa a safe play area for small children. Although the garage is not available for use of guests it is possible to park a small car on the drive, and parking is not a problem on the street outside the villa. It is a quiet street with views over the open countryside.

Accessibility
Although the villa is set in level gardens there are three steps up to the front door, and three steps up to the pool terrace from the garden.
Outside
Large 7 metres by 4 meters pool for the sole use of guests. With built in steps,shallow and deep end. Automatic filter system and underwater lighting for those cooling evening swims. Dining table and eight chairs in shaded covered area with sun awning. Outdoor lighting. Barbeque. Sunloungers by the pool. The garden area to the side of the villa is lawned.
Coast/Beach
The Costa Brava coastline is one of the most beautiful in Spain with its steep cliffs and clear blue waters and blue flag sandy beaches.The villa is an excellent base from which you can explore the surounding area.The nearest beach is in Empuriabrava a short 10 minute drive. Alternativly you can drive a little further afield to the beaches of Roses, L'Escala and L'Estartit all within 20 mins drive.
Golf
There is a Pitch and Putt 9 hole golf course and Driving Range in the village of Castello d' Empuries five minutes drive away. Further Golf courses are within 20 minutes drive including the Championship course of Perelada.
Travel
Gerona Airport is approximatly 40 mins drive, Barcelona Airport is an hour and a halfs drive. Perpignan Airport is 45 minutes drive. Giving you the opportunity of finding all the cheap flights with carriers such as Ryan Air and Easyjet, Jet2 and BMI Baby. Car hire is essential if you want to explore the surrounding area. There is a train service available from Figueres Station to Barcelona.
Distances
The village itself has all you need within 2 minutes walk, including two excellent restaurants. Castello d' Empuries with its shops and restaurants is a five minute drive. Empuriabrava has everything you need to make your holiday special! Large supermarkets for your weekly shopping and lots of smaller shops from designer boutiques to gift shops. It is the largest marina in Europe so you can imagine all types of water sports are catered for. The main town of Figueres is a fifteen minute drive.
Further details
If you want more than sun, sea and sangria, within five to twenty minutes drive you can visit the Medeival village of Castello d' Empuries and soak up some of the atmosphere as you wander it's maze of narrow streets and cobbled squares. The Greek and Roman ruins at Ampurias is a great way to spend the morning then stroll down to the square in St Marti d' Empuries for lunch and spend the rest of the day on it's beautiful beach. Visit the Salvador Dali museums in Figueres and Port Ligat. The Citadel in the lovely old town of Roses with it's great fishing port heritage. All are on your doorstep! For the children there is a superb Aqua Park at Roses where you can spend the day for a change from the beach. The children also love a visit to the Aerodrome in Empuriabrava where you can sit on the terrace with a cool drink or have your lunch as you watch the spectacle of the take offs and landings of the planes right in front of you and then follow the descent of the parachutists as they swoop down over your heads to land. The beaches of the area are great for children and adults alike, the scenery great, the beach bars and restaurants make for some wonderful days soaking up the sun!
Booking notes
Deposit of 30% is payable on booking.The final payment is due 6 weeks before commencement of holiday. A key/damage deposit of 300 euros / 300 pounds is required, which is fully refundable if the villa is left as it is found on arrival with no damage or breakages etc. Payment accepted via Paypal or bank transfer, if paying by paypal, please tick the 'I will pay charges' block, usually about 2.5%, we find this the easiest, cheapest and safest way to pay.
