The views from inside and outside have to be seen to be believed! Beautifully furnished by a professional interior designer this spacious villa is also very well equipped! Outside, there are plenty of terraces, open and covered, palms and fruit trees, 8 sun loungers, patio furniture and gas BBQ. Equipment includes Satellite TV, DVD, PC with Wi-Fi broadband and a table tennis table in a large games room. Solar hot water and also underfloor heating throughout for comfortable mid winter evenings! Quietly situated towards the end of a cul-de-sac of Monte de los Almendros, on the mature residential hillside above the village of Salobrena. Beaches, bars and restaurants are only 5 minutes away. This is the heart of the unspoilt Costa Tropical, cooler in mid summer and warmer in winter than the Costa del Sol!

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. At the lowest winter rates fresh linen is not provided but a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron are! The swimming pool has an excellent solar heating system with thermal cover and from April to October we guarantee will always be around 27ºC/80ºF without any pool heating charges. Note: From 1st November to 31st March all electricity consumed will be charged at our cost (0.18 euros per Kw)
Changeover day
Our preferred changeover day is Friday when flights are usually cheaper than at weekends! Fridays also give our cleaning ladies a little more time than they normally have on Saturdays. We can however usually be flexible - particularly in winter.

Notes on accommodation
Further equipment provided includes air-conditioning throughout (top-quality 'silent' Fujitsu throughout), water softener, reverse osmosis water purifier, portable CD player, PC with WiFi ADSL internet connection and solar powered underfloor heating throughout. Telephone calls charged at cost. When booking the villa at discounted winter rates, changes of fresh linen are not provided but a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron are. The owners have lived in the area for 20 years and provide much local information. Non-smokers only. Sorry, no pets.
Accessibility
Easy access from the street to the main living area down 5 steps from the parking area but all bedrooms are accessed via the internal staircase. Not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
Heated swimming pool, superior gas barbecue, sun loungers on pool terrace, dining terrace and roof terrace. Outdoor dining table and chairs on dining terrace with superb views to sea and castle. The swimming pool has a solar heating system and an electric heat pump and from April to October inclusive will always be warm enough for comfortable swimming. (Around 80ºF/27ºC) with no additional charges. Steps lead from the pool terrace down to a private garden with fruit trees, mango, avocado, orange, lemon, tangerine, lime, and bananas. Help yourself to any ripe fruit! A door from the garden leads to a large games room (situated under the pool terrace) with a full-size table tennis table and a couple of sofas.
Coast/Beach
5 minutes drive to the beach. Recreation area private to the development, with two pools, tennis, football and in the summer a kiosk selling soft drinks a 7 minute walk from the villa.
Golf
Local golf course within a 10 minute drive from the villa ('Los Moriscos') and 3 others within a driving time of around 45 minutes.
Skiing
Although on the Costa Tropical with mainland Europe's warmest winters snow skiing is close at hand in Spain's highest mountains, the nearby Sierra Nevada ski resort nr Granada, where the season runs from the beginning of December until the end of April. There are a lot of good quality intermediate slopes and lessons available for all levels. Many snow machines guarantee good conditions most of the season. Just Google "sierra nevada ski spain" for more info.
Ideal for winter holidays for a mixed party where the keen skiers have their fun on the slopes and the less energetic can enjoy lazing on the sunbeds!
Travel
Granada (45 minutes). Malaga (60 minutes). Almeria (90 minutes). Car essential.
Distances
Salobrena village 5 minute drive. Motril 10 minute drive. Granada 45 minute drive - the Alhambra is a 'must see'.

Even in mid winter it will usually be warm enough for swimming (around 21ºC/70ºF) and on request can also be heated further with an energy efficient heat pump at an additional cost. Las Torres has underfloor heating throughout powered by dedicated solar panels that also provide the hot water and even in mid winter the villa will be warm most evenings. If the sun does not shine as it should then the air-con units can also provide warm air. Note from November to March inclusive all electricity consumed will be charged at cost (0.18 euros per Kw).
Booking notes
We have finished and furnished this villa to a much higher standard than most rental villas and would like to keep it in 'as new' condition for as long as possible. With this in mind we regret it is not available for parties with pets or young children (Under 10) and also we have a strict no smoking policy inside the villa.

Everyone who has stayed here is pleasantly surprised and delighted when they first enter Las Torres. The most heard comment is that it far exceeds their expectations based on the photographs and descriptions seen at the time of booking. It's incredible views and the care we have taken to make it as comfortable and relaxing as possible seem to have done the trick! One couple who stayed here in 2008 and who have stayed in many upmarket villas over the years have already re-booked Las Torres five times and always for one month! Their overall comments were 'by far the best villa we have stayed in and we have stayed in some of the best'.

About the owner
Margaret and Mike Lingwood moved to Salobrena from the UK with 3 young children in 1988 and have lived in Casa Miranda in the favoured Monte de los Almendros residential area since 1990. The photo shows us sitting on our window seat at home with Salobrena castle and the sea in the background. We chose Salobrena after looking for our new home all along the south coast of Spain in 1986. It was the only place we liked then and we plan to stay here! As well as our home we have two other villas on Monte de los Almendros that we rent out all year round, Las Vistas (S577) and Las Torres (S10780). We like the outdoor life and enjoy walking and cycling in the countryside around Salobrena and in the winter skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We looked for our new home all over southern Spain in 1986 and even then found most places too developed. Salobrena was a refreshing change then and still is now, truly Spanish, better climate, (cooler in summer and warmer in winter), close to the skiing and Granada and nowadays even easy to get to!
Unique benefits of the property
Las Torres was built in 2007 with help from Katie, our environmentally conscious architect daughter. We tried to give it a truly Spanish character (eg the old reclaimed roof tiles and internal plasterwork features copied from local cortijos) whilst building a property with all mod cons. The decoration and furnishing was the work of our interior designer friend Shane Williams of SW Designs. One English couple will be returning for their 4th & 5th month long visits this year (2010). The views are fabulous including the snow capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada which can be enjoyed in winter in this all year round comfortable villa with both air conditioning & underfloor heating! Ecologically very sound with pool & floor heating from solar & fruit trees irrigated by recycled drainage water!
