Nestled amongst the pine trees on the lower slopes of the Sierra La Solana, overlooking the beautiful Jalon Valley and the traditional Spanish village of Alcalali, Villa del Mirador Solana provides comfortable family two/three bedroom accommodation, sleeping 4 plus 2, in a traditional Spanish villa with pool and outside bar. Set in a tranquil and established area of private villas, with private terraces and spectacular views, including the main terrace with an 8mx4m pool. The villa is within 10 minutes walk of restaurants, 10 minutes walk to the village of Alcalali, and 20-30 mins drive to the best blue flag beaches of the Costa Blanca. The area is well known for its spectacular mountain and valley walks with other numerous outdoor activities available for the more adventurous, including horse riding at our own riding school in Calpe.

All towels and linen included including beach towels. The villa is cleaned and linen changed weekly. If required we can meet you at the villa on arrival for any advice on the villa or the local area.

Notes on accommodation
The air conditioning / heating unit is situated in the living room additional room fans in the bedrooms. The main living area of the property is on one level with three steps leading to the bedrooms and bathrooms.

We include in the rental a welcome pack i.e. milk, bread, juice, spread and marmalade.

Accessibility
The steps leading from the villa to the pool area are relatively steep.

Outside
Outside, the villa is surrounded by private terraces leading down to the main pool terrace, so there is always a sunny (or shady) spot to sit and relax at any time of day. From the top terrace with barbecue, stone table and bench shaded by mature pine trees, steps lead down via a small breakfast terrace with open valley views, to the inviting 8x4m private pool. The pool has underwater lighting and an outdoor shower. Nearby a further terrace, shaded by a porch roof, provides access to the outside Bar Area and WC. There is also a utility / wash room with washing machine. Steps then lead back up to the parking area which is large enough for two cars. There are six sun loungers, three sets of tables and chairs.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach resort of Calpe is approx 15 minutes drive, with beautiful blue flag beaches and facilities, It also retains its original fishing port famous for its numerous excellent seafood restaurants. The other popular resorts of Denia, Javea and Moraira are within 30 minutes drive. All are well worth visiting. Denia has a wonderful marina and all have excellent restaurants and shops.

Golf
Golf can be found locally at Javea, La Sella and Moraira. With as many as 9 courses within a 15-50 min drive.

Special interest holidays
We run a local riding school in Calpe (20 minutes drive) and can incorporate riding into your holiday. We are also keen walkers in the area and can arrange guided walks or an introduction to the local walking groups. Please contact owner for private website.

Travel
The airports of Alicante and Valencia are both around 1hour 15 minutes by car. Taxis are available from the airport. Car hire is highly recommended to explore this beautiful region, which we can arrange if required although it is easily available at both airports. Directions to the villa will be sent to you after booking.

Alcalali 10 mins walk. Jalon 5 mins drive. Coastal resorts 20/30 mins drive. Calpe 20 mins. Javea 30 mins. Denia 25 mins. Altea 30 mins.
Benidorm and theme parks 40 mins drive. Valencia 1 hr 15 mins drive. Alicante 1 hour drive.

Further details
It is 10 mins walk to the nearest restaurant and approx 10 mins walk to Alcalali where there are numerous restaurants and bars, 2 shops, bakers, bank, tobacconist, chemist and hairdressers. 5 mins drive to the larger village of Jalon with more restaurants, bars, bodegas, small supermarket, shops, banks and a weekly rastro (flea market).

About the owner
We are a family of 6, mum dad and four children. We live in Alcalali about 2 kilometres from the villa and so are always here and able to help in any way with any problems or advice. We moved to Spain 7 years ago from our home in Newark Notts and just love living here. Our elder daughter works as a freelance riding instructor and horse trainer. Our youngest daughter attends the local Instituto (High school) and is fluent in the local Valenciano language as well, of course, Castellano. Our oldest son works at the local dog kennels and our youngest son has returned to England to study at Southampton university.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
My mum and dad bought the villa in 1994 after spending 2 years travelling around Spain looking for the 'perfect' place to holiday. Alcalali is a typical Spanish village with a beautifull square dominated by the church and medieval tower. Here you can eat al fresco during the summer months. Within the village there are 5 bars all serving excellent tapas and all types of typical Spanish food, whist on the outskirts there are 5 good restaurantes. Within a 10 minute drive you can reach the villages of Lliber, Parcent, Orba and Jalon all having good restaurantes and bars. The area is famous for its vin yards and wine making and local wine can be bought from the numerous local bodegas. The area is very quite but only 20 minutes drive to the nearest beaches in Calpe.

Unique benefits of the property
The villa is situated on the lower slope of Mount Solana looking down on Alcalali and with amazing views of the surrounding Jalon valley and Sierra Bernia mountains in the distance. Its around a 10 minute walk into the village but remember its uphill all the way back! The villa has its own very private grounds and pool with ample seating and relaxing areas. We provide all towels including beach towels so you can travel light. From the villa the beautiful blue flag beaches of Calpe and Denia are around 20/25 mins by car and Javea around 30 mins. If you want theme parks Terra Natura, Terra Mitica and Aqualandia are only around 35 minutes drive away. If you would like to try horse riding why not join us at our riding school in calpe we cater for all levels, (beginer to accomplished)
