El Jardin Secreto is a spacious, beautifully modernised villa, set in private gardens. It has everything you need for a fantastic holiday including a poolside 'tikki bar' with a family table and barbecue/cooking/fridge facilities for fun-filled nights outside under the stars. A welcome pack is always there for you on arrival to help you relax after your journey to your holiday home.We have thought of everything as there are even 2 sets of golf clubs there for you should you fancy a round on one if the beautiful local courses.
If you stay longer than 1 week the local agency will send a maid to change the beds and make them up with fresh linen,leave you clean towels and do a mini clean of the house for you.

Notes on prices
Please note that highchair[s]/cot[s] hire is £20 per item per week. The bedding for the cot[s] is supplied.
The rental of the small spare bed is £40 per week to include bedding.
Stays of less than a week can be negotiated if there is a gap on the availability calender.
Xmas/New Year and Easter weeks are £850 per week.
Bookings of 1 month+ during Winter months have excellent rates. Email/call for details.
Changeover day
The usual changeover day is Saturday. Sometimes this can be negotiated.
The usual time of departure is 10am. The time of arrival is usually 3pm.

Notes on accommodation
The villa has the added bonus of a solar heated pool, temperatures obviously vary with the amount of hours of sun each day. All the bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep you cool in summer. Gas central heating/fire provided with fixed costs if required.It is called El Jardin Secreto-The Secret Garden-because of the beautiful gardens which surround the whole villa. There is a huge palm tree ,which is a landmark in the area. You are able to pick your own lemons,pomegranates, oranges and walnuts from the trees there and the frangipani scent is wonderful. Lavender and bougainvillea grow around the pool and the rubber tree provides shade for the hammock and a novel. It is a great place for a holiday with family and friends and children are safe in the garden. The villa has been renovated recently and everything has been chosen with care to add interest as well as comfort.It has a flat screen TV and a DVD player. HiFi and ipod dock. Parking is available for several cars and is in the grounds.
Accessibility
The villa is all on one floor inside, which would make mobility easier. Outside, after leaving your car the kitchen can be accessed without having to negotiate steps. The pool area and outdoor facilities are on one level with the bonus of a tiled outdoor shower under the bougainvillea.
Outside
A large private pool is outside in the patio area. It measures approx 10 x 5 metres and has steps into it at one end. The deepest part is 2 metres. It is solar-heated, so temperatures vary depending on the hours of sun at the time. The large mature gardens make the holiday even more special and a gardener ensures the lawns are cut and the trees and bushes are pruned. Sun loungers are available. Most of these are multi-positional. Three large Spanish straw umbrellas are a permanent feature, each having its' own fixed table. They are perfectly safe even in windy weather. As described,the 'Tiki-Bar' is a popular place to spend time and has hosted some brilliant gatherings.It has atmospheric lighting for the evenings and u large table with modern seating. A barbecue, gas hob and fridge turn it into a second kitchen. It is shaded by a rattan roof covered in colourful climbing plants. In another part of the garden is a 'pizza oven' wood/coal fired barbecue for the 'Jamie Olivers' who stay.
Coast/Beach
The local beaches of Nerja can be reached by car in approx. 5 mins.
It is possible to stroll to the nearest beach and famous Balcon de Europa in approx. 15-20 mins.
The most famous beach in Nerja is Burriana, which is long and sandy and has many good fish restaurants where the food is cooked on barbecues for you.
Golf
The closest golf course is Baviera and is a 10-15 min drive.
Another popular course is Anoreta which is 25 mins away by car.The beautiful and famous courses based nr Fuengirola are also not much more than 1hrs drive away.

Travel
The nearest airport is Malaga. The drive is approx. 40 mins on the autovia.
A bus is available from the airport at just a few euros. The villa would then be a short taxi ride from the bus-stop.
Some people get a taxi from the airport and this can be ordered in advance for you by our local agent.
Car hire is only necessary if you would like to explore the area more.
A taxi back from town at night is approx 7 euros if you don't fancy the walk.A supermarket can be reached easily..2 mins by car
Distances
The town of Nerja is a very popular and yet unspoilt place to explore. It is a walking distance of approx.20mins. Frigiliana is the closest white - washed village and is approx.10 mins by car. The Caves of Nerja are a famous 'must-do' and you feel as though you are entering the very belly of the earth when you are down there. They are in Maro,approx 5mins by car.
The Balcon De Europa has fabulous panoramic views and is in the centre of Nerja. A shopping centre is approx. 25mins on the autovia.
Further details
The town of Nerja is packed with small shops which provide a never-ending feast for the eyes for all sorts of keen shoppers, selling everything from fresh fish to ballgowns, if they don't keep you occupied enough then the many bars and restaurants will draw you in, especially for the famous tradition of Tapas-a small delicacy served free with your beer or wine. Down on the famous Burriana beach there is usually a huge Paella being cooked at Ayos and this eating experience is a must with a glass of Tinto Verano [red wine and lemonade translated as The Red of Summer]
The pretty white-washed village of Frigiliana is another place to visit and is only 10 mins drive up from the villa. The streets are cobbled and full of eclectic shops and interesting bars and small restaurants.
Banks and supermarkets are easily accessible in the town of Nerja and the choice is good.There is an excellent supermarket in easy walking distance of the villa in case you need to stock up for all your outdoor barbecues you will be having under the stars!
The drive along the coast road is beautiful and there are many smaller beaches along here to find and explore. Walking in the area is also excellent and the local tourist office in the town can provide information.
A favourite day out of ours is to put a picnic in the car and swimming gear and simply drive along the old coast road,choosing one of the many beaches and then stopping to explore for a swim and some lunch.
Cots with bedding/highchairs can be booked for £20 per week for each item.A small spare bed with bedding can be booked for £40.
A Welcome Pack is provided free of charge for all guests.
A supermarket is 5 mins away with a great variety and a local garage is open day and night for any necessities you may have forgotten to get.
There are many banks in the town along with cash points. Also internet cafes are in abundance.
We use excellent local agents and also have an apartment in the town ref. S12882.
Booking notes
If you decide to book a 20% deposit is required.
If the stay is for longer than 2 weeks, a discount can be negotiated.
The balance for the holiday is due 6 weeks before departure. A damages deposit of £100 is required at this stage. This is refunded immediately on your return if no damage is reported.
If the holiday is cancelled the deposit is non-refundable unless in exceptional circumstances.
Payments are usually made by internet transfer. Receipt of payments made will be confirmed.
