The property is located close to the beach where you will enjoy plenty of pure sea air and begin to feel healthier as the days pass by. The sun terrace overlooks the activities of the locals and gives a long uninterrupted view of the beach and Mediterranean. It will give you as much sunshine as you care to enjoy and it is where you can barbecue and enjoy a glass of wine or two. Sea breezes will pamper you in the warm evenings and all your stress will float away to relax you for a good nights sleep. If you like walking simply turn left outside the door and you will find the longest promenades and beaches in Spain. There are so many bars and restaurants for you to try out at your leisure. Markets in many pueblos along the coast are common. Caleta market takes place every Saturday morning until about 12.30 where you can buy anything that can be carried. Hire a car if you wish, but the excellent bus service will take you to any town or city in Andalucia and along the Costa del Sol.

Coast/Beach
The beach is actually only a few yards away and is rarely overcrowded on this stretch of the coast. Just imagine, you can sunbathe on the beach, take walks along the sea line and swim to your hearts content in safe waters. After all this strenuous activity it is only a short walk back to the cottage where you can shower off all the sand and sun oil, take a well earned rest, have a cold drink or even a nice cup of tea, or whatever else takes your fancy. Enjoy.

Travel
The nearest airport is at Malaga about 40 kilometres away, although sometimes people use the one at Granada about 70 kilometres distance. Taking a taxi from Malaga is a good option as car hire is really not necessary considering the location of Fisherman´s Cottage. Whatever the choice, we supply directions in English and another one in Spanish, which the guest can give to the taxi driver.

Distances
Coach trips are available to every city in Andalucia. Cordoba, Seville, Granada, or even Gibraltar. The local bus service is excellent going East to nearby Torrox Costa, Nerja. Frigiliana mountain village. the quaint pueblo of Maro where the Caves of Nerja are situated. All the Eastern coastal towns have beaches although with the exception of Torrox Costa, they are not as easy as Caleta or Torre Del Mar in accessibility. They are all well worth a visit

Further details
From comments gathered from our guest book, visitors seem to enjoy the terrace area most. It has sun beds, dining table and chairs and a barbecue. It gives panoramic views along the beach and sea line. The barbecue is where you can enjoy true open air cooking and where the man reigns supreme. Cooking fish such as Trucha, Dorado, Lubina or Percha wrapped in oiled silver foil for 15 minutes, produces a very tasty meal with very few bones if any. Accompanied with one of the many Spanish white wines or roses, it is most enjoyable. All these fish are readily available in the Super Markets.

If you fancy something on the British style there is a Super Sol close to Torre Del Mar going West on the 340a. The supermarket is accessible from a roundabout on the outskirts of the town so is easy to get to. There, amongst everything else, including every conceivable cave of wine, you will find products from the UK such as Melton Mowbray sausages, Cornish Pasties, sausage rolls and pork pies-
A visit to Spain would not be complete with sampling a few of the many eating establishments close by. They are not expensive and the food is wholesome and served in a friendly atmosphere. All of these along with lots of local information can be found in our guest book entered by many of our satisfied clients. This will save us much time writing down all the various locations. They are close by, but some are a bit farther a field and well worth a visit.

We recommend bringing with you the Berlitz Spanish in 30 days, which will help you enormously if you are new to the Spanish language. You will actually learn how to ask a person to speak more slowly!

The front door of the cottage is a heavy security lock type and the windows have security bars as well so your valuables will be quite safe. Do not forget, if you decide to use your credit card in Spain then you will need to have your passport with you. Be aware of people around you when drawing money from any cash point or bank.

Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required with the balance paid upon arrival.

Guest comments
Thank you for the use of your cottage. We had a wonderful holiday which releaxed us totally. The roof terrace was our pearl in the oyster and the beach being so close could not have been more convenient where we could have a swim whenever the mood took us. We will certainly recommend you to our friends and look forward to coming back next year. Sue & Gareth.
