Casa Montana is a beautifully appointed villa which has been the subject of a recent programme of tasteful refurbishment. The 12 x 5m heated pool - ideal for year round swimming - sits in the expansive terrace with its sunbathing balcony. The property is reached via a sweeping eucalyptus tree-lined driveway which leads to a large gravelled forecourt and car port and covered walkway. It is furnished to a very high standard. All bedrooms and reception room are fitted with warm and cold air-conditioning and are spacious and airy. Bedroom one has views to the sea and access to the terrace whilst bedrooms 2 and 3 enjoy mountain views. The main reception room has a traditional fireplace fitted with wood-burning stove and overlooks the broad paved terrace and pool area, bordered by pine and eucalyptus trees, with its wonderful sea views. The terrace comes complete with outdoor seating, dining furniture and sun loungers - a perfect spot to swim, relax or soak up the sun in total privacy!

Outside
The newly constructed 12 x 5m private heated pool is set in a broad spacious terrace with its extended sunbathing balcony and enjoys uninterrupted views of the sea. Summer shade and fragrant aromas are provided by the pine and eucalyptus trees to the left and right of the terrace. The villa benefits from a covered eating area where you can dine alfresco but still remain cool, and seating areas where you can simply relax with a chilled drink and take in the wonderful vista.

Coast/Beach
The long (5 kilometres) uncrowded Blue Flag beach of Mojacar is 4 mins drive from the villa and here one can find the many bars and restaurants which supply the low-key nightlife of Mojacar Playa.
Along the coast is Garrucha, a fishing port. The 'catch' is landed here every day at 5.00pm and the fresh produce finds its way almost immediately into the many renowned fish restaurants of the town.The Water Park at Vera or go-carting at Garrucha also provides entertainment for the whole family.

Golf
There are three golf courses within 15 minutes drive of the villa, by far the most challenging of these being the Championship courses of Desert Springs and Valle del Este. Both should prove testing to low and medium term handicappers and both have a second course in the planning stage. The nearest courses to the villa can be found at Marina del Torre at the Northern end of Mojacar Playa and the newly opened for 2008 Playa Macenas Beach and Golf Resort, just a few minutes drive South from Casa Montana, which combines a wonderful golfing experience with a dramatic sea and mountain backdrop.

Skiing
Within 2.5 hours in the winter season one can be enjoying the skiing on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada just outside Granada.

Travel
The nearest airport is Almeria which is 1 hours drive from Mojacar and serviced by all the budget airlines. San Javier at Murcia (1.5 hours drive) and Alicante (2 hours drive) are alternative airports for arrival and departure.

Distances
Casa Montana is 4 minutes drive from the beach, shops, bars and restaurants of Mojacar Playa. The old Moorish town of Mojacar Pueblo stands on a hill high above the Playa and is only 10 minutes drive from the villa. Garrucha is fifteen minutes by car.

Further details
Mojacar Playa is a low-rise cosmopolitan resort which has developed over the last two decades and which appeals to all tastes and age groups. The long sandy beaches of Mojacar are ideal for swimming or simply enjoying the sun and are well appointed with 'chiringuitos' (beach bars), children's playgrounds and activity areas. There are a few late night club and disco bar venues but the majority of evening entertainment is generally low key.
If its history that you crave, the ancient Moorish town of Mojacar Pueblo sits high on the hill above the Playa. The Pueblo has developed over many centuries and is a maze of small streets and alleyways just waiting to be discovered and explored. Here you will find many small bars and restaurants where you can sample the tapas with a cool beer before taking a short stroll to the Plaza to enjoy breathtaking views across this part of Andalucia.

Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required on booking the villa, the final balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to date of arrival. Winter rentals are welcome and recommended as Mojacar is famed for having the best sunshine record in the whole of Spain. Special rates apply for longer periods.
