This impressive Andalucian farmhouse, located in an elevated position, amongst olive and almond groves, has the most stunning views. Overlooking the valley, across white-washed villages, the scenery stretches across to the Tejeda mountain range. The farmhouse has been a family home for many years and in the process, has been lovingly restored yet has retained many of the original features. The rooms all have the traditional beamed ceilings, many with terracotta floor tiles, open fire places/wood burning stoves, decorative wrought iron lights and beautiful wooden doors. 'Modern' and 'comfort' have been carefully introduced. The outside of the property has extensive patios/seating area around the pool, gardens abundant with trees and flowers, BBQ, outside kitchen and covered dining area for eating alfresco. Colmenar has good bars, restaurants, local market, banks etc. Historic Granada and Malaga, cosmopolitan Marbella and Nerja, beaches and shopping centres are all an easy drive.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
The party can only include those persons who are listed on the booking form. Discounts can be given for booking of over 2 weeks, please ask. A 30 % non refundable deposit is required to reserve the property with the full amount due 8 weeks prior to arrival. A receipt is sent for all payments. If required payment can be made in euros, please ask.
Changeover day
Changeover day Saturday. Please note that arrivals are accepted after 4pm and departures are by 10am. At times we can be a little more flexible with the above mentioned, please ask if necessary.

The property is cleaned and maintained to a high standard for the arrival of guests. Fresh linen and towels are provided for your arrival and changed on a weekly basis depending on the length of stay. Sorry pool/beach towels not provided. |
Notes on accommodation
All bedrooms have air-conditioning/heating. Lounge areas have open fires or log burners. Fans are provided also during the summer months. Due to the property's age and history, there are small steps connecting some rooms and one or two lower door frames. As the pool and patio area cover such a large area, it is difficult to section it off, therefore there is access to the pool directly from the patios/gardens and three different exits/doors from the house. Please note that there may be unfamiliar plants eg cacti/aloe vera/roses in the gardens with thorns. The property is situated in its own grounds so you can walk on the land through the almond and olive groves and also the fruit trees further below.
Below the main house but entirely seperate, we have an individual villa with its own private access, pool, and gardens. It shares the private drive and car park with the property. Although separate, can be rented in addition to main property adding 6 persons, please ask.
Accessibility
The property is located 4.5 kms from the village of Colmenar on a new tarmac road with the last 300 metres down our private drive/track. There is ample parking space at the bottom of the drive directly next the property. The access into the front, which is through iron gates onto a patio or to the back of the property, is down a few small steps. The property and grounds are not all on one level so would not be suitable for a wheel chair/very elderly.
Outside
The gardens and patios can be accessed from both sides of the house. Leading through original oak doors from the sun lounge or kitchen accesses a patio area with small walled garden and covered area under arches with views. The rear double kitchen doors lead out onto a small semi court yard with seating and opens out onto the main pool and patio area. Here there is a large covered eating area with table and chairs and BBQ. Also onto the pool, gardens and large sunbathing area with sunbeds, wicker sun umbrellas and uninterrupted views. There is also a hammock in the trees ideal for a cool, quiet siesta.
For visiting children there is a large play area, including tree house at the side of the car park under a large home oak tree. This is however to be used please, with respect and under adult supervision at all times. A large toy box can also be provided on request for younger children.
Coast/Beach
There is a vast selection of beaches to choose from, the nearest being approx 30 mins by car. Due to our central location, travel to the west or east side of Malaga coast is a comfortable drive.
Torremolinos 30 mins. Malaga 30 mins (cathedral, beaches, port). Benalmadena 45 mins (award winning marina, beaches). Fuengirola 45 mins. Marbella 1 hour. Gibraltar 1 hour 40 mins. Nerja 1 hour. Lake Vinuela is only 20 mins and has good restaurants. All times are approx.
Golf
There are innumerable golf courses along this coastline, all of exceptional standard and attract all levels of players. The nearest course is approx 30 mins. We can provide further details if required of locations, courses, lessons etc.
Skiing
The popular ski resort of Sierra Nevada, near Granada is les than a 2 hour drive. a comprehensive selection of pistes for all levels, ski school, snow boarding and a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
Special interest holidays
There are locally, some courses available in painting, local cuisine, also organised walks, and pony trekking. Please ask for further details.
Travel
Malaga airport is approx 35 mins drive.
Granada airport is approx 1 hour/1 hour 10 mins.
Gibraltar airport under 2 hours.
Directions to property for arrival are provided. Car hire is essential as we re located 4kms from the local village. Taxis can be hired at a small cost for evenings out from the village and there is a bus service into Malaga from Colmenar 3/4 times a day.

Colmenar the local village is a short drive 5/7 mins with all facilities. Lake Vinuela 20/25 mins. Malaga 30/35 mins. Velez Malaga 40 mins. Marbella 1hour/1 hour 10 mins. Ronda, Gibraltar, Granada, Cordoba under 2 hours.

Booking notes
Weekly rentals are based on a maximum of 8 people plus cot. A 30% non refundable deposit is required to secure the reservation with the full balance paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. A receipt is given for all payments. A security deposit is required on arrival of £150/200 euros and returned in full, provided there are no breakages.
