Casa Christina was a tradional Anadalucian cottage approximately 400 years old and originally our home here. Over the past few years it has undergone sympathetic restoration and extension retaining all its rustic charm. It is surrounded by olive groves and is totally private. The views down the valley to the distant hills of Las Chozas are superb. The house is perfect for groups of friends holidaying together as well as families and family groups. It now offers comfortable accommodation for 8 people with 4 spacious bedrooms overlooking the pool. One twin and one double on the ground floor with bathroom and one twin and one double on the first floor with bathroom. This makes it ideal for two family accommodation or for the less agile members of your group to take over the ground floor. As we live only 10 minutes away we are always available to give any help or advice on all aspects of local life, what to see, how to get there and the best places to eat!

Bedrooms: 1 double bedroom and 1 twin-bedded room on the ground floor.
1 double bedroom and 1 twin-bedded room on the first floor.
All bedrooms are very spacious, with wardrobe and drawer space, and overlook the pool.
Bathrooms: 1 bathroom with bath/shower over, wash-hand basin and wc on the ground floor and 1 bathroom with shower, wash-hand basin and wc on the first floor.
Kitchen: The large rustic kitchen has granite worktops, oven/hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer and a comprehensive range of cooking equipment. Access to the kitchen terrace which in turns leads to the roof terrace.
Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, ironing board and iron.
Living Rooms: The sitting room on the first floor has comfortable sofas, satellite TV, video with a range of videos for all ages, hi-fi,various games and a good choice of holiday reading. Leading out of the room is the bamboo and grapevine covered roof terrace.
Other: On the ground floor in the centre of the house is the dining room where the age of the house is identified by the exposed Moorish pottery and stone wall and impressive ancient ceiling beams.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bedlinen, bathroom and pool towels are provided and changed weekly. However, we would appreciate if you would bring your own towels for beach use.

 

Notes on accommodation
For rental out of season there are woodburners in the dining room and living room, and electric radiators elsewhere. High chair and cot available on request at no extra charge.

Outside
Private pool: The newly installed eco-pool system maintains the water to drinking water standards, 100% chemical free. It has under-water lighting and measures 8m x 4m by 1.4 metres deep all over, so excellent for a swim or just to play about in. Plenty of pool side terracing with loungers and seating.

Terraces: a large covered area to the side of the house, is just right for alfresco dining and to get out of the sun. A gas BBQ, drinks fridge and table tennis are also located here. The bamboo and vine covered roof terrace at the rear of the house has wonderful views down the valley and is an ideal spot for breakfast and quiet reading.

All the terraces are lit so what better way is there to end the day than to sip sangria and listen to the cicadas under a clear, starry sky on a warm and balmy Andalucian evening.
Access and parking: Situated on the hill-side with a 200 metre typical unmade track, with parking at both front and rear of house.

Coast/Beach
Iznajar (a short drive away) is on the edge of the largest lake in Andalucia which has its own beach with bar/restaurant, BBQ facilities, fishing and pedalos. Or if you prefer, the Mediterranean is only one hour away.

Golf
The nearest 18 hole golf course with pro-shop, English pro and lessons available is at Antequera. Only 30 minutes drive away.

Skiing
Skiing and trekking is available at the Sierra Nevada about a 90 minute drive.

Travel
Malaga and Granada airports are both an hour's drive away.
Car hire is essential.

Distances
Iznajar, a typical rural Spanish village with white-washed houses and steep narrow streets perched on the edge of 'The Lake of Andaluz', is a must to visit and wander around.
The property is ideally situated for easy access to the Alhambra at Granada, the Mezquita at Cordoba and the colour and flamboyance of Sevilla.

Further details
The nearest villages of Fuente del Conde and Villaneuva de Tapia are both about 5 minutes drive. They have supermarkets, fresh bread and local bars and typically Spanish restuarants. Iznajar, provides a full range of services: supermarket, post office, numerous shops, health centre and banks.

Booking notes
We can hold a provisional booking for 24 hours. A 25% deposit of the total holiday cost is required to confirm the booking. Outstanding balances are due 8 weeks prior to commencement of your holiday. A security deposit of £200 is required. This will be refunded( provided no breakages or damage) no later than two weeks after your departure.
