On the green Northwestern Portuguese and Spanish Atlantic border, the villa is equipped with all the modern amenities in a spacious living area that makes it comfortable and cozy. It has several lovely view terraces, a charming garden, a private swimming pool and a natural pool with a waterfall on the creek bordering the property. Mountain trails are at your doorstep and lovely beaches are minutes away. We are located in the Baixo Miño region of SW Galicia at the outskirts of the village of Tomiño. It is well-communicated with good roads to nearby airports and cities such as Vigo, Santiago de Compostela and Porto and just a few kilometers from the Atlantic Galician fjords and the River Miño separating Spain and Portugal. The area boasts a micro-climate with pleasant summers and gentle winters, where orange, lemon, kiwi, olive and palm trees abound.

Utility Room: On the ground floor in a separate room, you'll find a washing machine, drier, ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner etc.
Living Rooms: A large and cozy living room contains rustic furnishings and a wood-burning fireplace. Watch satellite TV and DVDs from a comfortable sofa or enjoy a separate area for reading. Adjacent is a large dining area with lots of natural light.

Towels (except beach/pool towels) and sheets are included. Towels changed every 3 days, sheets changed weekly.

Notes on accommodation
Althuogh our winters are very mild (Avge high/low of 15/7 degrees C) the villa is toasty in the winter, with a wood-burning fireplace in the living room and under-floor heating throughout the house. There is no air-conditioning, but with screens on all the windows and doors, they can be left open for a nice breeze without the bother of insects. Regretfully, we request no smoking, no children and no pets.

Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchair use. All bedrooms are upstairs.

Outside
Over 3600 sqm of property contains a private swimming pool (8x5m), BBQ, outdoor tables and chairs. Around the gardens, find stone benches to rest a while, or sit under the shade of the pergola. Take a stroll to the Pego Creek bordering the property, and dip your toes in its refreshing waters. Most of all, take in the stunning view down the valley to the hills of Portugal below.

Coast/Beach
We are just 15 minutes' drive to Atlantic and fluvial beaches of Galicia. Near the mouth of the River Miño you'll find calm, soft-sand beaches. Off the coast of Baiona lie the Islas Cíes, accessible only by boat, and voted as some of the best beaches in the world. Also nearby are the fine coastal beaches of Playa America and Samil. The Portuguese beaches of Moledo and Caminha are equally as beautiful, and are about 20 minutes away.

Travel
Vigo, Spain is the nearest airport, about 30km away. Santiago (Spain) and Oporto (Portugal) are a bit further, about 100km away. In summer months, ClickAir offers direct flights London-Vigo, and RyanAir has flights to Oporto. Air France also has direct flights Paris-Vigo. Car hire is essential, GPS is helpful.

Celtic ruins, vineyards, restored watermills, Portuguese forts, Roman churches, castles and cathedrals are all within easy reach.

Further details
The town of Tomiño is just 5km away with banks, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, pharmacies, and health clinic. The historic city of Tui and the picturesque port town of La Guardia are both 15 minutes from here, and if you like larger cities, Vigo is just a half an hour north. Quaint Portuguese towns with their outdoor markets and ‘fortalezas’ are just across the river Miño, about 10 minutes away.

50% on booking by bank transfer; remainder in cash on arrival. Deposit non-refundable for reservations in July and August. Other months, refundable up to 8 weeks prior to travel. 200 euro damage deposit, payable on arrival (cash) and returned on departure after satisfactory check of the property. Contact owner for further booking details. Christmas and Easter weeks are considered high season.

The area is tranquil yet near all amenities of nearby towns or major urban cities in Portugal and Spain. Being on the borders of Portugal and Spain, it is immersed in the culture, history, and beauty of the two countries. One would spend a relaxed vacation and at leisure, enjoy all the outdoor water and mountain activities the area has to offer.
