Horse riding on the narrow treks and paths of the national park is a wonderful way of discovering the mountains of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla. The rides on horseback are fully organized and include a guide. You can book a ride for a minimum duration of one hour. The rides take you through the typical dehesa-landscape of the Sierra Norte (open woods with oaks where cattle is grazing). Spring, when millions of flowers color the dehesa, is extremely beautiful. You cannot only book a ride at horse, but also take lessons in horse riding. There are also horses for rent.

Further details
Nearby Cazalla you can find the neolithical caves of Santiago. In early centuries this place was owned by Carthar, Romans and Moors. In 1247 the Christians conquered it from the moors and it was used as a place to stay for the pilgrims who travelled to Santiago de Compostela. Nowadays you can still experience the wealth and historical significance of this place. Cazalla de la Sierra has a rich historical past. Several monuments in and nearby the village testify of this: La Iglesia de Santa María de la Consolación, el Convento de San Agustin, el Convento de San Francisco, la Iglesia de San Benito y el Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Monte. The most popular 'fiesta' is the Romeria de la Virgen del Monte, in the second weekend of August and the whole following week. In September the people in Cazalla celebrate the Fiesta de la Funcion.
