The property has 3 sun terraces, flowering shrubs and views of the Mar Menor and Calblanque Natural Park. The villa is well-equipped for a relaxing sun and sand beach holiday. Playa Paraiso is a superb location on the Mar Menor within easy reach of Murcia and Alicante airports. There are good local amenities. Close to golf courses, sandy beaches, water sports and many places of interest.

Notes on accommodation
Casa Arenosa is very versatile, equally suitable for adults or family groups. Having a separate bedroom on the roof terrace, accessible via steps from the back terrace, can be an ideal arrangement if you will have teenagers or another couple with you on your holiday. Playa Paraiso is perfect for babies and young children with its warm, shallow, non-tidal Mar Menor and gently-sloping sandy beaches. With this in mind, a cot and other baby equipment are provided without any additional charges. The hot and cold air conditioning unit in the dining area is well-positioned and efficiently maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the ground floor, in the heat of the summer and during the cooler winter evenings.

Accessibility
Playa Paraiso is situated on level ground, and efforts have been made locally to ensure accessibility with pushchairs and by people with disabilities (ramped road crossings, boardwalks on the beaches, disability access point in Playa Honda). The ground floor of Casa Arenosa is accessible to people with moderate mobility difficulties. There is one shallow step at the front door and a slightly deeper one from the kitchen to the back terrace.
Outside
There are large terraces at the front and back of the ground floor and a rooftop solarium, so you can make the most of the sun and the Spanish al fresco lifestyle. All 3 terraces have white walls, glazed floor tiles, water taps and outside lights. There are patio tables, chairs, sun loungers, parasols, barbecues and a chest full of beach games and toys which you are welcome to use. The back terrace has an outside shower - you'll find it's a great way to cool down in summer.
The beautiful communal pool facility has a swimming pool and paddling pool and is solely for use by residents and tenants. It is situated in the gated area behind our house, and can be reached in 2 minutes. Parasols and sun loungers are provided.
Coast/Beach
The Mar Menor is a huge non-tidal salt water lagoon, calm, clear and warm. Playa Paraiso (Beach Paradise), sandy with palm trees and beach cafes in summer, is only a 3 minute walk, and you can explore for miles in both directions. Or take a picnic to awesome Calblanque Natural Park, 5 minutes by car. You drive through the conservation area to the car park. There are many footpaths and boardwalks leading you across the sand dunes to golden beaches and rocky bays. It's quite beautiful! Unmissable!
Golf
Playa Paraiso is ideally well-situated for golf, because there are 7 golf courses within a 30 minute drive La Manga, Torre Pachecho, Hacienda del Alamo, Mose Trajechum, Campoamour, Las Ramblas and Villamartin. Green fees range from around 20-170 euros. Further information can be provided.
Skiing
The most southerly ski resort in Spain is located in the Sierra Nevada and it is a scenic motorway route most of the way. But its a 3 hour trip so hardly the thing to do in a day! But if you are looking for a two resort 'beach and snow' holiday and you don't mind a drive, it could hit the spot: 61km of ski slopes with 45 pistes, 2 cable cars, 12 chair lifts and 5 ski lifts. We can recommend an excellent B&B in the area.
Travel
Murcia (San Javier) airport is a 25 minutes drive. Alicante airport is a 90 minute drive. Access is easy along good, scenic dual carriageways, heavy traffic is rare.
Car hire from the airport is recommended to make best use of the great location, but is not essential because there are miles of beaches and basic amenities within walking distance. Cycles can be rented locally. Our agent can arrange airport pickup and provides a taxi service. Welcome packs can be arranged for your arrival.

Further details
Murcia province, known as the orchard of Spain, is in the South East of the country. It is a beautiful province with acres of orange groves and open agricultural land with mountains beyond. The Costa Calida (warm coast) has an average of 320 days of sunshine per annum. Playa Paraiso is superbly situated on a peninsula with the southern end of the Mar Menor (small sea) on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. It is well placed for watersports, golf and other activities, and the mild climate means that you can enjoy the area all year round. Playa Paraiso is mainly low-rise with Calblanque Natural Park in the background. You will not find an apartment block overlooking our villa! The resort is adjacent to the Marschmallow Salt Lakes which attract flocks of flamingos.
The village shop at nearby Playa Honda is well stocked and priced. The Casablanca serves great tapas, or you could try Julietta's paella! Both stay open all year round as do many other bar/cafes and restaurants around the area. Cabo de Palos is a fishing village with seafood restaurants overlooking the harbour. PADI qualified scuba diving schools and fishing boat trips go out from here. Los Belones has cafes, bars, restaurants and two bodegas - try delicious Murcian wine from the barrel. Great value! The La Manga 'strip' has even greater variety, and Cartagena is a fascinating ancient city and European 'port of culture' with a restored Roman amphitheatre and other historic features - well worth a visit. Boat trips around the bay leave every hour from the port area.

A deposit of £50 is payable at the time of booking, and the balance is payable within 6 weeks of the arrival date. A security deposit of £50 is charged (refunded following agents' inspection after stay).
