This traditional Alpujarra style house was totally restored in 2008. It features a unique iron balcony with magnificent views of the Poquiera Valley, open fireplace, stone walls and chestnut beams. It has two levels each with street access: downstairs has a large double bedroom with separate bathroom and storage areas; upstairs has an open kitchen living area with open fireplace and French doors opening onto a balcony with wide views, double bedroom, large second bedroom with two single beds and fully equipped bathroom/laundry. The village of Capiliera is located in the Sierra Nevada National Park. It is noted for its beautiful natural environment, the traditional Moorish architecture of its houses, terraces and balconies, flowers, narrow streets, public fountains and plazas. Numerous local festivals are celebrated by the villages throughout the year, including Easter Week, 'fiestas' in April and August. Other activities include bushwalking, rock climbing, horse riding and relaxing.

| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen are provided for up to 6 people. Change of linen available for long stays on request. The property is fully cleaned prior to arrival. Visitors are asked to leave the house in a reasonable condition at the end of their stay. |
Notes on accommodation
Winter: all windows in the house are double glazed and hermetically sealed with wooden shutters. Electric heaters are also provided. Firewood for the open fire is not provided but is available locally.
Summer: Capileira enjoys hot summer days and the house maintains comfortable temperatures during day and night. Late summer evenings can be cool.
Children: the house is suitable for children. The town provides many free activities for children particularly through the town's summer 'cultural program' as well as the festivals during the year.

Accessibility
Capileira's hillside location and its cobblestone streets are charming but create difficulties for those with mobility problems or using wheelchairs. Therefore house is not suitable for those with mobility problems.
Coast/Beach
Capileira is just 54 kilometres from the coast. The closest beaches are found in the towns of Motril and Salobrena, and around 50 minutes by car.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is accessed through the city of Granada. It is a 90 minute drive from Capileira.
Travel
The nearest airport is Granada airport, approximately 75 minutes drive by car. Almeria airport is 2 hours away by car.
Malaga International Airport is 2.5 hours away by car.
Car hire is available at the major airports as well as in the nearby regional town of Orgiva.
Distances
Capileira's nearest neighbours are the nearby villages of Bubion and Pampineira, also located in the Poquiera Village. Bubion is a pleasant 2km walk. The nearest regional town is Orgiva, around 30 minutes by car. The major city of Granada is 73km from the town.
Further details
Capileira has many tapas bars and restaurants, 2 small supermarkets, many arts, craft and gift stores and a number of local artist galleries. Local services include bank with ATM machine, pharmacy, clinic, Catholic church.
Most of the residential parts of Capileira are accessible only by foot. Car access is restricted to the top part of the town. A public car park is available at the entrance of the town near the 'Centro Multiusos'.
Access to the house is a short 3-5 minute walk from the public parking area.
Booking notes
A deposit of 20% of the total cost is required at the time of booking. This is not refundable and should be done by bank transfer. Bookings will then be confirmed by email. The balance is due at least 4 weeks before arrival.
