We would like to invite you to our luxury penthouse with its fantastic views of the golf course and mountains from its wrap around terrace. It is situated on the Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort, which forms part of the Jack Nicklaus Golf Trail and overlooks the 14th green and 15th tee. The 18 hole, par 72 course measuring over 6500 yds from the back tees, has received rave revues from golfers of all standards since its recent opening. The course includes 5 lakes and its greens are well protected by bunkers to make your game interesting! For those not interested in golf, the penthouse is ideally situated as a base for your holiday, whether your prefer to laze by the pool or swim in the warm waters of the Mar Menor with its beautiful beaches. For those who like historical buildings, architecture and their shopping fix, the cities of Murcia and Cartagena are less than 30 mins away. The Murcia region is rich in nature reserves and is ideal for those who like to explore.

Notes on prices
Please contact us for information about discounts for Polaris World owners and long term lets over 2 weeks. The minimum charge for short breaks is 3 nights. We accept payment in either sterling or euros by bank transfer or cheque.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday but is flexible.

Bedrooms: Bedrooms 1 and 2 both offer twin singles or king size beds, fitted wardrobes with internal draw units, bedside tables, air conditioning, radiator and hairdryer.
Bedroom 1 has French doors to terrace.
Bathrooms: The bathroom is fitted with a bath with overhead shower, WC, fitted vanity unit and heated towel rail.
Kitchen: Large kitchen fully equipped to a high standard. Cooker, halogen hob, washing machine, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave/grill, kettle, toaster and an extensive range of crockery and utensils.
Utility Room: There is a covered terrace accessed from the kitchen, which has fantastic views over the orange groves. There is a cupboard with iron, board and clothes airer.
Living Rooms: The lounge with dining area has access to the terrace from large patio doors. There are reclining leather sofas, a dining table and 4 leather chairs, LCD TV (UK channels), DVD and hi-fi. A selection of DVD/CDs are available.
Other: The large terrace offers views across the golf course and to the distant mountains; here you can witness spectacular sunrises or sunsets, depending on your social hours. There is a BBQ and seating area for 6; 2 steamer chairs and two loungers.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels, including beech towels and bedlinen are provided. There is a cleaning charge of €70 paid locally on departure. Welcome packs are available at an extra charge.

 

Notes on accommodation
The apartment offers air conditioning in all of the rooms and heating for the cooler evenings. The Internet can be accessed from all rooms after purchasing a payment card from the resort office.

There is a ladies set of golf clubs, an electric golf trolley and a bike available.

We have friendly key holders who will meet you and familiarise you with the penthouse. They are available at any time to help with questions and advice about the resort.

There is no smoking in the apartment.

Accessibility
The penthouse has not been adapted for wheelchair users. There is a lift accessable directly from the undergound car park.

Outside
The large wrap around terrace provides a relaxing area to eat breakfast and watch the fantastic sunrises or to watch the golfers wend their way around the course.

There is a large L shaped swimming pool within view of the penthouse which is fenced with gated access. You can take your choice of the numerous pools around the resort.

Coast/Beach
It is only a 15 minute drive to the Mar Menor, which is a large sea water lagoon with the warmest and safest water in the Med, flanked by numerous sandy beaches and long promenades to stroll along. At San Pedro beach you can bath in the salt lakes or have a mud bath. There are facilities for sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing, both for beginners or the more experienced, all along the Mar Menor.

Golf
The choice of golf courses within a 30 minute radius are numerous and varied; from the famous La Manga courses to the Seve Ballesteros designed course of Peraleja next door.

Polaris World offer special rates for residents on all of their courses.

Travel
Murcia (San Javier) airport is a 15-20 minute drive and Alicante is 45 minutes. Both airports are served from the majority of UK airports. Car hire is available at both airports and is advisable. Our key holders offer an airport pickup if required.

Distances
The local village of Sucina is a 5 minute drive and offers a small supermarket, fishmonger, bars and banks.

The Mar Menor is 15-20 minutes drive away with its warm waters and beautiful beaches. Murcia city is 30 mins; La Manga strip 45 mins; Cartagena 40 mins.

Further details
The Murcia region benefits from an average temperature of 21c with 320 days of sunshine a year and due to this mini micro climate it is recommended for asthma and joint problems. Murcia is noted for its contrasts; from its rich diverse coastline with its areas of dunes, salt flats, gentle coves, areas of rough water to mountainous national parks.

The marine reserve at Homigas Islands near Cabo de Palos, is acknowledged by diving enthusiasts as one of the best scuba dive sites in Spain. Cabo de Palos is famous for its lighthouse and is situated at the mainland entrance to the La Manga strip. On Sundays there is a market where local produce and bargains can be found.

The historical port of Cartagena was founded in 227BC by the Carthaginians and due to its location has always been a major port. The city contains a mixture of old and new, including a Roman amphitheatre, which was only discovered in 1987, as well as many other archaeological treasures. You can take a boat from the port to explore parts of the coast unseen from the land.

The regional park of Calanque still preserves all of it's unspoilt beauty. This section of the coast with its arid mountains, sand dunes, beaches and blue seas can be visited on foot, bike or horseback.

The town centre, whilst being built in traditional style, will incorporate everything required for today's modern world. The facilities will include: golf pro shop, restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarket, bank, gym and much more. At present there is a temporary cafe /bar which holds entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, a supermarket and pro shop until the town centre has been completed. Please contact us for a full update on the resort facilities available.

As holiday guests on Hacienda Riquelme, you can enjoy the wide range of facilities, including the golf courses and restaurants at the different Polaris World luxury resorts all with in a 15 minute drive or by using the free shuttle bus service.

Booking notes
An £80 deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to departure. A refundable security deposit of £150 is also required with the balance payment. This will be refunded within two weeks of your departure, subject to a satisfactory property inspection. Bookings can be made by phone or email and your reservation will be confirmed on receipt of your deposit and a completed booking form.
