2 bedroom first floor luxury apartment in Cogollos Vega, a rural Spanish village. The apartment comprises an open plan living area with kitchen, dining and lounge areas, leading to a balcony providing fantastic views of the valley, lake and mountains beyond. Two bedrooms. The lounge is air-conditioned and all rooms are fitted with ceiling fans. A spiral staircase leads from the balcony to the large private roof terrace, where barbecues and alfresco dining can be enjoyed. Views of the sunset from the roof terrace are spectacular.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has twin beds.
Bedroom 2 has a bunk arrangement comprising small double below and single above, will sleep 2 adults comfortably or 3 children.
This room also has a private balcony/drying area.
Bathrooms: The marble tiled bathroom includes shower, wc, bidet and washbasin.
Kitchen: The fully equipped kitchen includes a large fridge/freezer, ceramic hob, oven, extractor, microwave, washing machine, breakfast bar and stools.
Utility Room: Secure store room in basement (suitable for ski equipment).
Living Rooms: The apartment has a large open plan living area, it is air-conditioned (also heats in winter). A TV with DVD and video player is provided. Dining table and chairs, corner sofa unit. Patio doors leading to balcony.

All towels and bedlinen are provided. Property cleaned before arrival and weekly for 2 week stays or more.

Notes on accommodation
Small development. Suitable for children, but not recommended for toddlers due to spiral staircase and balcony. For groups larger than 5 or for two families holidaying together, we can arrange rental of a similar apartment on the same development.

Large roof terrace with 2 sun loungers, table, 4 chairs and parasol. Additional table on balcony. BBQ provided. Alfresco dining on balcony or roof terrace. 2 outdoor and 1 indoor heated shared pools. Small indoor gymnasium. Secure underground parking and storage. Communal ping-pong table.

Coast/Beach
A 45 minute journey by car will take you to the typical unspoilt Spanish resorts of Motril and Salobrena. 10 minutes further you will find Almunecar. These resorts have numerous tapas bars, restaurants and bars. A water park is located at Almunecar.

Golf
18 hole course at Motril (45 minutes by car).

Skiing
Sierra Nevada is 45 minutes drive on good roads. As well as skiing and snowboarding for all levels, there is dog sledging and tobogganing. Being Europe's southernmost ski resort, views of the Mediterranean are possible.

Travel
Granada Airport is 25 minutes by car. Malaga Airport is approximately a 90 minute drive. Car highly recommended, although there is a hourly local bus service to Granada.

Distances
Granada and the Alhambra Palace is 20 minutes by car. Cordoba may be reached in approx 90 minutes by car and Seville approx 140 minutes.

Further details
Cogollos has several small shops, banks, restaurants and bars within a short walk. Cogollos is a small typically unspoilt Spanish village, there are beautiful walks and horseriding available. A large shopping/cinema complex in Pulianas is a 15 minute drive from apartment.

Booking notes
25% deposit at time of booking. Remaining balance 4 weeks prior to departure. A separate £150 breakage deposit is required. English and Spanish spoken!

"We stayed 5 nights in Cogollo Vegas and were very pleased with this apartment. The quiet view across the olive groves to distant hills was delightful and we loved coming back early from Granada on a few occasions to watch the sun go down and hear the last of the birds. The cupboards were well-stocked with all we needed to cook with and there's a great bakery at the bottom of the hill selling good breads. Thanks for a terrific base for part 1 of our holiday. Shame the 2nd part in Seville wasn't nearly as good.

About the owner
I live in Kent, England with my partner, Ian. We love spending time in Spain. I teach Spanish and am therefore fluent and love staying in village that is small, friendly and very Spanish and yet being only 20 minutes from Granada and all that the magnificent city has to offer. The views are terrific snd the mountain air is so clean and fresh.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We love the area because it is so beautiful and natural. You have the clean, fresh mountain air and absolutely fantastic views. You can be on the roof terrace without being overlooked by anyone and open to nature. The village is very friendly and incredibly cheap! Yet, we are only 20 minutes from the city of Granada with all that has to offer: the amazing Alhambra Palace, the ski slopes, wonderful shops, restaurants and nightlife. To cap it all we are only 40 minutes from the beaches of the Costa Tropical too!
