Accessibility
This is a 2nd floor apartment with stair and lift access.
Outside
The large pool area is shared but usually quiet. It is accessible only by residents holding a valid key and a life guard is in attendance, supervising the children's pool and main pool area. (The pool is only open from June, through to Mid-September.)
Coast/Beach
The local area boasts a wide variety of beaches, some are golden sand while other are dark sand. The town beaches tend to offer a full range of amenities but it is still possible to find remote stretches of beach that are relatively quiet even in the height of Summer. The beach at Almerimar is particular good for water sports and the golden sand at Roquetas De Mar stretches for miles. (The nearest beach is 5-10 minutes walk from the complex.)
Golf
Almerimar Golf is only 5-10 minutes walk from the complex and offers a good challenge for beginners and club golfers. The course has been extensively improved recently and is open twelve months a year. (Book directly before you go via their website.) The Desert Springs course near Almeria is the only desert course in Europe. It is an usual and challenging alternative for more experienced golfers. 10-15 minutes drive from the apartment there is also Playa Serena Golf. (The mild Winter weather in Almerimar means it is possible to play golf in just a tee-shirt even during January!)
Skiing
Almerimar is less than two hours drive from the Sierra Nevada mountains which offers some of the best skiing in Spain. During the Winter (October - March) it is possible to ski on a day-trip basis and increasingly the mountains have become a Summer destination for mountain bikers and walkers.
Special interest holidays
Almerimar is centre for wind surfing and kite boarding with some of the most predictable breezes and mild sea conditions in the region. If you are looking for acommodation for a golf society tour, our friends own the apartments on either side so we can potentially accommodate large parties of golfers in adjacent properties. Travel
Almerimar is 35 minutes drive from Almeria Airport via an easy to follow motorway route. Daily flights are available from Manchester, Bham, Luton, Gatwick and Stansted. Car hire is recommended if you intend to view the local attractions. We use Centauro Hire Cars at the airport.)
Distances
Almerimar is around 90-120 minutes driving time from the historic town of Granada and some of Spain's top ski resorts in the Sierra Nevada. With a base on in Almerimar it is feasible to ski in the morning and play golf, windsurf or simply relax on the beach in the afternoon for nine months of the year.
Further details
There are many other day trips and attractions in the local area you might consider. The iconic spaghetti westerns that brought Clint Eastwood international fame were actually filmed in Almeria and two theme parks celebrate the Hollywood connection. (The Hollywood Theme Park and Wild West Experience.) In the nearby town of Roquetas De Mar there is a Water slide Park and Aquarium for the children and young at heart. The marina area is within 10 minutes walk of the apartment and boasts an enormous selection of cafes and restaurants. The dining is reasonably priced and relatively informal. Menus are very international but many focus on traditional local dishes serving fresh fish and locally produced meat and game.

A 10% deposit is required to reserve the apartment but the full balance must be paid a minimum of 14 days in advance to allow the funds to clear.
