A lovely week spent in a real Spanish town - you could walk to restaurants, bakery, bars, supermarket/local market from the house as well as having a spectacular gorge right on your doorstep for walks and bike rides. With two active children there was lots to do and a good location for getting to the coast or Granada.
A lovely relaxing place to spend a week. The gourge is beautiful to walk through. The bars have great tapas and the Arabic Bathes at El Ventoro are wonderful to relax.Thank you ! Oct 2010

Owner profile
About the owner
I live here in Spain with my husband and daughter, we love the area and the fact that it is still traditionally Spanish. What attracted us to this part of Spain was the amazing sceneryand of course the tapas!
Year purchased: 2007
Why the owner chose a home in this location
The house was full of character and all the locals remember it when it used to be a fruit shop years ago. The town of Alhama De Granada is charming and full of traditional Spanish bars were the tapas is served with every alcoholic drink and there are lots of fiestas. The countryside is absolutely stunning and to walk through the gorge is just amazing. The town is very friendly and not too commercialised or spoilt by tourism it still has allot of Spanish charm.
Unique benefits of the property
To be in walking distance of everything the beautiful churches and old buildings. To go to the hot springs and lie in the warm pools and relax. To be able to sit on the town square on a warm evening soaking up the Spanish atmosphere. To be able to have a great night out in so many bars and get free tapas. To enjoy a barbecue or a drink in the lovely garden, not many properties in the town have gardens. To be able to walk to the market and buy lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and get fresh fish and bread.
