Further details
Saleres is one of the most traditional white Spanish villages in the Lecrin Valley. Whilst a haven of peace and tranquility it has a lot to offer the visitor. There are no shops or bars in the village but there are bars and restaurants 5 minutes drive away. Additionally, grocery shops, banks, pharmacists, garages and a post office are all within a 15 minute drive. For daily fresh food there are several white vans which regularly come into the village supplying fresh produce such as bread and cakes, freshly caught fish, free range eggs and meat.

The house is in an ideal location for people who have special interests. There are several local companies in and around the area who hire bicycles. It is an area popular with mountain bikers/cyclists given the terrain. It is also a fantastic walking area as you can set of for a walk from the front door of the apartment. The GR7 long distance footpath runs up the the hill behind the village and then onto Lanjaron. There are many tracks and paths that run through woods and orange and lemon groves as well as alongside streams. Beznar lake is also within walking distance.

There are bird watching guides and mountain/walking guides close by who will be able to show you the flora and fauna at its best. For those of you interested in herbs, there is a special herbal walk.

There is also a public swimming pool in the nearby village as well as the fun packed water parks in Almunecar (1 hours drive) and Granada (40 minutes drive). Horse riding is available as there are various stables in the valley and also on the coast with rides on the beach. In the mountain areas long daily rides are available together with a picnic to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Owner profile

About the owner
Hello/Hola, we moved to this beautiful area three years ago from England. We still wake up each day not quite believing that we actually do live here and are not just on holiday. The peace and tranquillity of this lush and verdant valley has a magical feel to it away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet still close to the coast and Granada, both some 30 minutes away. With a bar in the village, providing frequent musical events from flamenco to rock and roll and a monthly farmers market selling fresh home grown produce, there is plenty of local entertainment on the doorstep. In the present economic climate essential breaks are often forsaken, but by keeping my prices affordable it is still possible. Oh and by the way this is my dog Harvey who would love to meet you.
