Our 2nd floor apartment has a south facing balcony with stunning views, the perfect place to enjoy breakfast in the morning and a quiet drink in the evening. Not only for golfing fans, Hacienda Riquelme is the perfect location to explore the Murcia region, from the beautiful beaches on the Mar Menor coastline to the historic cities of Cartagena and Murcia, all within easy reach. The Mar Menor is a large seawater lagoon and offers safe swimming as well as warm waters well into the autumn months. Extensive promenades are ideal for a relaxing walk or cycle and there are many beachside cafes and bars. For those who enjoy shopping there are excellent facilities at the Dos Mares shopping mall in San Javier providing designer shops, food hall, bowling alley and cinema. All in all the perfect location for the perfect holiday.

Accessibility
Apartment has use of a lift, either from parking space underground or on ground floor through main door. The property has not been adapted to suit a wheelchair user.
Outside
Large balcony leading from lounge/diner with patio table and chairs. The balcony has beautiful views over green no 3 and extensive views down the golf course towards the hills.
Balcony leading from both bedrooms. These balconies have views over open countryside. The apartment is a short distance from the main entrance to the resort, situated on higher ground with views down the golf course. There is plenty of parking outside as well as the underground dedicated space situated next to the lift shaft. Hacienda Riquelme has a lovely open, peaceful atmosphere. Low density building means all apartments have a golf course view, with the resort being surrounded by open countryside and agricultural land. A large shared swimming pool is a short walk away.
Coast/Beach
The beautiful beaches of the Mar Menor coast are a 20 minute drive away. The beaches have lovely promenades where you will find cafes/bars. From Los Alcazares beach it is a short walk inland to the town centre. There is a diverse range of water sports available from this coast such as sailing, scuba diving, kite surfing and windsurfing. Santiago de la Ribera has a new promenade, from this resort you can enjoy a ferry trip across the Mar Menor to La Manga.
Golf
Hacienda Riquelme is a par 72 Championship golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. All golfing facilities including club and buggy hire, driving range etc, along with the service of a golf instructor can be found on the resort, bookable at the Pro-golf shop. As a resident you can receive discounted hire costs. Other Polaris World Golf Resorts can be reached via a free bus ride from the resort.
Travel
Murcia Airport (Jan Javier) is just a 20 minute drive away.
Alicante Airport approximately 45 minute drive away.
Car hire is essential and cars can be picked up from Murcia Airport.
Distances
The small town of Sucina is a 5 minute drive away where there are shops, bars/cafes etc. There is also a supermarket here which stocks English goods, this is open until 8pm. The capital city of Murcia is approx. a 30 minute drive away and has a cathedral, historic architecture as well as an abundance of shops. Cartagena, with its Roman history, is a 30 minute drive away. The old city has narrow cobbled streets that link with the more open spaces and modern boutique style shops.
Further details
Hacienda Riquelme is a new resort and facilities are being improved all the time. At the moment there is a very good supermarket on the resort which opens until 8pm and a clubhouse bar/cafe where you can get a good meal. This is very popular, so don't arrive too late to get a seat. There is also a tennis court. The town of Sucina (5 mins away) has everything you need to make your stay comfortable, including a pharmacy.
We have used a very good local bike hire service. With 24 hrs notice, from 15 euros a day, you can have your bike delivered to your apartment with helmets, puncture repair kits etc, agreeing a pick up time to suit you. A bike is a very good way to familiarise yourself with the resort and to explore the surrounding area.
Booking notes
A deposit of £50 is required to secure a booking, with the balance being paid 4 weeks before departure. A fee of 65 euros is payable locally (left in the apartment) to pay for cleaning and laundry on vacating the apartment. A welcome pack can be provided at extra cost, details of which can be provided when booking. We accept payment by cheque, made payable to Mr and Mrs R Venn.
