Just a 3 minute drive off the main Autovia Mediterraneo highway on the Costa Tropical, our property is in a small hamlet. We are just a short drive from the traditional fishing village resort of La Rabita, with the beach, several restaurants, bars, small supermarkets and banks - very popular with the Spanish for their holidays. In this area 'tapas' are still served free. The local town of Albunol is also a 5 min drive. We are in the lower ranges of 'La Contraviesa' - foothills of Las Alpujarras - the well renowned winemaking region of Southern Spain.

Notes on accommodation
Bed linen and towels provided, also a welcome pack of essential groceries on arrival.
Electric fans for the summer and gas heater for winter (although seldom necessary).
Not really suitable for babies.
Accessibility
Both units accessible directly from the road but not equipped with wheelchair access.
Private parking space available, and own or hire vehicle recommended.
Outside
Patio outside each of the properties along with table and chairs.
Coast/Beach
The beach at La Rabita is a 5 minute drive away, with the boating and golf resort of Almerimar being a 40 minute drive to the west.
A cove, just to the west of Calahonda (20 minute drive) is very popular with snorkellers and divers.
Golf
Golf courses in Almerimar and Motril (approx 40 mins drive).
Skiing
Skiing in the Sierra Nevadas - approx 45 mins drive.
Travel
Car, or use of one essential.
Almeria Airport, 1 hour drive.
Granada Airport, 1.5 hour drive.
Malaga Airport, 2 hour drive.
Distances
La Rabita, 5 minutes. Adra, 15 minutes, El Ejido and Almerimar 40 minutes.
Motril, 35 minutes. Almunecar, 50 minutes.
Granada, 60 minutes.
Gibraltar, well worth a visit - 4 hour drive.
Further details
This area of the Costa Tropical still remains relatively unspoilt. It is true to say that the developers have arrived - but they have not been here for long - yet!! It is possibly one of the last few remaining outposts on the coast of the 'real Spain'.
