The house is a 3 storey, traditional, Andalusian home which has been lovingly restored and is very spacious within. The property is in the heart of Canillas de Aceituno. The picturesque village is small enough to have retained a delightful Spanish charm and it has a number of bars, restaurants and shops as well as a small market on Fridays.
Situated on the edge of the National Park and at the foot of Mt. Maroma it is an ideal place for walking or exploring the back roads of Andalucia. During July and August the public swimming pool and bar is open and the beaches along the coast are a short drive away.

and comfortable seating for 6 people. No TV.
The dining room has a table for 6, a radio/cassette/CD player and a well stocked bookcase.
Other: The landing has a large original olive oil storage pot which is now used to hold firewood.

Towels and linen included. Beach towels are not provided.
Property is cleaned on changeover day.
Welcome packs can be arranged.

 

Notes on accommodation
In cooler months there is the use of wood burning stove, ceramic wall heaters, gas heater and oil filled radiator. The old house keeps cool in the summer but there is the use of a large freestanding fan. Bottled gas is used for cooking and hot water.

Accessibility
The staircases are quite steep and not suitable for the elderly or very young children however the ground floor has all the facilities one would require for a pleasant stay.

Coast/Beach
Although a mountain village it is only 30 minutes by car to the popular resort of Torre de Mar and 50 minutes to Nerja.

Travel
Malaga airport is 1 hour's drive away. Car hire is essential.
There is no parking outside the house although you can park to unload. Car parking is available at each end of the village a few minutes walk away.

Distances
Malaga, which is full of culture and wonderful shops, a mere 40 minutes away. Nerja and its famous caves are definitely worth a visit - 25 minutes. The beautiful Alhambra Palace in Granada is 1.5 hours away and Sevilla a couple of hours.

Further details
The village has many small shops, a bakery, butcher, 3 banks, chemist etc. The fish van visits daily and there is a small market on a Friday. There are 3 good restaurants and several bars. There is a Tourist Information open some days. The public swimming pool is open during June, July and August.
Canillas de Aceituno is an ideal centre for walking, birdwatching, painting and photography. There are many splendid walks in this area of outstanding beauty. For those who don’t want to walk there are many driving routes to follow which incorporate some dramatic scenery such as El Torcal and El Chorro or the Sierra Nevada.
