Changeover day
Changeover day, in summer is Saturday. The rest of the year we are very flexible. Arrival, any time after 5pm and departure time 9am to facilitate cleaning please in the summer months, out of season again we are flexible to accomodate flight times.
Notes on accommodation
Spacious, cool comfortable furnishings a truly cottage experience, ideal for guests wanting to explore our beautiful region, read, relax, cook. Luxury self-catering and (B&B out of season). Full CH, also a wood burning stove and free logs making this an ideal winter/Christmas choice. Above the average self catering property, equipped to a high standard. Os Bravos welcomes families, groups and couples alike. Secluded and secure, it is a haven of tranquility, but perfectly situated for access to all that Galicia and N. Portugal have to offer. The cottage is particularly suitable for guests looking for a secluded, cosy away from it all break. Excellent daily rates.
The en-suite bedroom has plenty of space for a cot if required.The sitting room has 2 sofas one of which is a double sofa bed which can be utilized if required. Beds can be arranged to suit the needs of the family/group.
Accessibility
The cottage is all on one level, the grounds also however many restaurants/bars in this area are well adapted for wheelchair users and the beaches have excellent facilities. We have welcomed people here with mobility problems and they have had a most enjoyable holiday.
Outside
Beautiful walled, well maintained, mature grounds with separate pool area, (completely fenced) a haven for many bird species with shaded corners, cooling fountain, specially designed 'tranquility garden' with many exotic species of plants, ideal for reading, relaxing, meditating, but with plenty of space for recreation. Sole use of lovely swimming pool amongst flora and fauna with breathtaking mountain and vineyard views, (11 metres with jacuzzi) and separate paddling pool for little ones. Many fruit trees and a kiwi fruit plantation provide both properties with organic fruits most of the year. A table and seating area, herb garden and in the shade of the large plum tree in the cassita courtyard there is a BBQ, seating & Marquee Private, secure parking .Both our properties are ideally suited to families however only one of the properties are rented out at a time so as to ensure peace and quiet for our guests and total privacy.( unless both properties are required for one family/group)
Coast/Beach
La Guardia, a wealth of beaches with blue flag status, 15 mins drive. Baiona, Samil, Patos, Playa America, all offer a host of amenities, free parking, safe bathing, water sports (a surfers heaven!) 20 mins from Os Bravos. Take a ferry to islands off Baiona, discover 1 of the top 10 beaches in the world.Cies. Paradise. Galicia prides itself on clean, safe beaches, sandy bays, rock pooling, little coves and hidden places, unspoilt and nearby. Soft white sand,clear turquoise sea, even dolphins.
Golf
Ponte de Lima, Ria de Vigo and Mondariz golf courses are all approximately 30 - 40 mins drive.They all welcome guests.
Special interest holidays
Os Bravos is situated in the heart of the S. Rias Baixus ,(Ruta del Vino), Albarino wine growing region, surrounded by bodegas/vineyards, large and small. An ideal center for wine tasting and visiting the world famous O Rosal wine fiesta in July. At Os Bravos guests can also enjoy comparative tastings in a relaxed atmosphere with a wine expert on hand to help maximise enjoyment if required.
The Port lodges in the Douro valley (Vila Nova de Guia) are also well worth a visit.

Fly to Vigo 20 mins drive from Os Bravos.OR Oporto 50 mins drive. Santiago De compostella 90 mins . Ferries arriving at Santander, Bilbao For info. re Airlines/ferries servicing these routes do call. Vueling (to Vigo)Easyjet,Clickair, Tap Air and Ryanair,Aer Lingus are the main providers, do check the Internet and press for offers . We recommend car hire but local, reliable taxis can be arranged to collect and deliver to airports. Bus service 10 mins walk.Train stations Valenca and Tui.
Distances
Tomino 5 min drive 20 min walk, good facilities. Estas /Figuero15 min walk, friendly bars/shop. Tui medieval town,impressive cathedral, market on Thursday. Vigo city/port ,theatres, galleries and restaurants. La Guardia - langoustine capital just 15 min drive, a must for seafood lovers. O Rosal famous for wine 15 min drive. Baiona, lovely beaches & castles. Santiago de Compostella , just 90 mins,by car. So much to do and see. Portugal just a 5 min. drive across the R.Minho! Braga 30 mins drive.

Nearest village shop (well stocked) 15 min walk. Figuero also friendly bar with outside terrace, walk through the cool forest (15mins), past the 'fortaleza' to this extraordinary village , relax in the village square (3 bars and a shop) with a glass of Albarino, or visit the magnificent church of San Campio de Lonxe, a famous place of worship and healing, also a refuge on the Santiago Way. 5 min drive (Goain and Tomino) have good local supermarkets fresh meat, fish and deli. Superb weekly markets. Banks 5 min drive , with cash points. Internet cafes too. Many bars, restaurants and taperia's offering excellent value for money. Fresh bread delivered daily to the house and cottage. Fresh fish delivered too.Good value restaurants close by, all offer a 'takeaway service'. Superb local produce, fresh, healthy and organic. A feast from the sea and flavours unrivalled. This really is a gastronomic delight. La Guardia (harbour town)is called the Langostine capital of Europe, with fantastic well priced restaurants. In Galicia, there is something tempting on offer to eat, see, or do 12 months of the year. From bodega visits and informal, comparative tastings at Os Bravos to lazy days on the stunning islands of Cies and Ons. For the more active, kayaking/canoeing, surfing, windsurfing and hobbiecats. Culture/art is all around, from the medieval town of Tui to the celtic site at Santa Techla, Santiago de Compostella is also a must (just 1.5hrs drive). So, in the spring come and marvel at the wild flower meadows, the rushing streams and the wild pony roundups , in summer enjoy the glorious beaches and long sunny days (the large house is available June/July/August) the cottage is unavailable then) , in autumn help with the harvest of the vines, marvel at the colours, a perfect time for artists and walkers. In winter explore Vigo, enjoy the stylish shopping, numerous art galleries and classic architecture, theatres, museums and spa's, return to Os Bravos for log fires and Rioja!
